It's the morning and I need energy!!
i'm in college and i have weight training during 10:30am....i would wake up at 8 and start packing my lunch and shake.
Once I get into the gym and start working out, I find I don't have much energy anymore and I can't get that 1 extra rep. I feel like I can't even pick up a 45lb plate and i don't even feel sore, just tighten muscles.
My question is, what can I drink that will hype me up and get me that extra rep. I really don't want to go out and buy supplements; i have tried no-xplode and i must say, it worked but not going to spend that much on it again.
Hmmm I think I should just drink about a cup of coffee before I work out? I would love some suggestions on what will give me energy thanks!!
p.s. I do eat breakfast.

If I'm sluggish, I just take a freezing cold shower before hitting the gym.

i'm sure coffee would help, but you could also try taking any one of the many pre-workout NO boosters on the market. make sure you are eating enough carbs before, though

So what exactly do you mean? You're just feeling sorta fatigued? Like, being sore without the soreness?

From experience, Xtend works well, at least the first few times. If you're not in the budget to by a supplement, try the cold shower thing the guy a couple of posts above me suggested. Either way, it's worth a try.

Do a warm up, or possibly stretch before, if you don't do that.

Maybe try Caffeine Tablets? There cheap and generally pretty effective.

after a couple sets of say, benching. I can't do any more work outs using the chest. I never really experience this before. and then the next day I feel sore. Usually when I lift, I would walk out of the gym and be like wow i had a good work out. but everytime when I do it now, i feel like I haven't accomplished anything. I just have no energy.

I prefer honey shredded wheat cereal.
It's delicious and it gives me a great boost.
And no i wouldn't spend that money on NO explode. You don't need a supplement to get a pump or to push yourself hard.

...the fact that you have to take a PE class in college is just silly. And White Flood is good. Though, NO-XPlode is a tad better with a small amount of creatine and caffeine/guarana.

Your training way to early. I know some people can do it, but others cant. For example I went for chest yesterday after 1.5 hours upon waking. I wasnt close my my regular self in the gym. I wasnt getting pumped, my strength was a bit down and I felt exhausted. I know you have class, so you cant change much, so I think you will just have to try caffiene and if that doesnt work you'll have to wait to adjust. But come ON! caffiene would be the first thing to try with that problem.

Green tea extract capsules. They're like $5.99 for 100 capsules. Just pop one with your breakfast. Take a multivitamin if youre not taking one already

i noticed this too. But I think it's because when I lift at night I have eaten a decent amount of carbs before the w/o. But in the morning, I only have about 30g of carbs before. When I add some more, I lift a little better. But nothing is better than a late-night workout....unbelievable energy for me. I'm talking about 11:00pm sessions. Gotta love late night university gyms!

Age old solution: caffeine
Nothing better. Try and use it only when you need it though to avoid building up a tolerance to it.
