    how can you tell if your shoulders are your weak point on benching?

    if you are have trouble at the start of the lift, your chest is weak, if you have trouble locking out, your triceps are weak.

    but how can you tell if your shoulders are weak?

    just wondering because i see a lot of people on here who OH press a lot more than me but bench less. so im beginning to think my shoulders are a weak point (but i dunno how to tell)

    Actually it depends on how you perform your bench that really determines whether or not the shoulders are playing a big role in the lift. BTW, what your bench/press?

    255, 205 or a little more on incline, but i cant standing OH press 135 strict!

    I'd say your shoulders are weak, but your bench is high so the way you bench probably isn't engaging much of the delt, so I wouldn't worry about it too much
    Beefing your shoulders up wouldn't hurt though

    benching uses a lot of shoulders....incline bench is more of a direct chest workout. i'd say they are fine.

    Transition from chest to tris is the shoulders. I'd say the first 2/3 of the lift require chest/shoulders.
