Frustration in time saves what?
So....
I got some lightweight dumbbells for christmas (thought was to use them for some cardio routines), and I decided to try lifting them with my injured shoulder, to see where it's coming along, in healing.
Not the brightest idea. Lifting an 8 lb weight for a side shoulder raise hurt like a big dog. I couldn't even lift it halfway!
So frustrating. And now the shoulder's complaining at me. :P
So... I guess I'll just have to go with bodyweight for awhile longer.
...I /had/ to try, man...

Be patient Healing should be your top priority! At least you can work the muscles that aren't injured, right?

do all shoulder movements hurt? can you do overhead press, front shoulder raise, upright rows...
if not, just work around it and take the time to heal the right way!!

I dunno. Didn't get that far. Started trying a hammer curl. Felt alright, did the side shoulder press and oof... didn't feel up to trying anything else. :-/
I will take the time, yeah. *pout*
Thanks, y'all.
Maybe I should just walk and work the rest of the body as I had originally planned. (Thought... hey, it's just a 'little' weight. I can do it! WRONG.)
For now.

one word: cardio
You have an injured shoulder, but you can still take walks and do longer periods of cardio (which are actually what you should be doing for fat loss)
You can still workout with injuries... especially arm ones. I had extremely painful shin splints in both of my legs, but still did upperbody workouts and slow walks until they healed.
