Nas - Remakes AC/DC Track With Carlos Santana
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nas has teamed with guitar legend Carlos Santana on a remake of AC/DC’s classic track “Back in Black.”
Other artists featured on Santana’s upcoming album include Chris Cornell, who remakes “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin and Joe Cocker, who takes on Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.”
Ray Manzarek of The Doors covers the group’s song “Riders on the Storm” and Nas is will be featured on the updated version of “Back in Black.”
"I paid special attention to the groove so the females would get completely aroused," Santana told Rolling Stone in an interview.
Santana has experienced success with his collaborations with rappers.
In 1999, Wyclef and The Product G&B hit big with Santana on the song “Maria, Maria” from the album Supernatural.
Other collaborations include “Do You Like the Way" featuring Lauryn Hill and Cee-Lo.
Additionally, former Rhyme Syndicate/House of Pain member Everlast experienced success with Santana on the track “Put Your Lights On” from Supernatural, which has sold over 15 million copies.

Rakaa Iriscience - "Crow Of Thorns" (2010)(New CD) (Preview)
Considering this MC's Dilated Peoples pals, DJ Babu and Evidence, had already done the solo thing, it was only a matter of time before Rakaa Iriscience followed in suit. For his debut, this West Coast MC is apparently going for a stripped down aesthetic, along with what looks like a who's-who of underground heavyweights. Crown of Thorns is fueled by production from Babu, El-P, Oh No, Exile, and several others. As if the producer list wasn't strong enough, Rakaa's rapper guest list is solid, too, with features from Evidence, Fashawn, Chali 2na, and Aloe Blacc.

Killah Priest (Of Sunz of man) - "The 3 Day Theory" (2010)(Preview)
Killah Priest first made his presence known on Gza's Liquid Swords album with the song "B.I.B.L.E.". Quickly after the release of Liquid Swords Killah Priest found himself signed to Geffen Records. His first album Heavy Mental would become an instant classic and would sell close to 400k units.
In 2010 Killah Priest is back with a lot to prove to a younger audience and a die hard fan base who has never left. 3 Day Theory finds Priest at his lyrical best, crafting a dark tale on "Psalm of Satan" from the point of view of Lucifer to the conspiracy driven warning on "Shadows". "Outer Body Experience" echoes back to Priest's Heavy Mental days and "Priest History" unfolds the story of how Priest got involved with the Wu Tang Clan. Then there are harder, the more violent verses on "The Destroyer", "Fire Reign" and "Birds" that show anger and desire still burning strong inside one of the worlds greatest MC's.
The 3 Day Theory is Killah Priest's strongest most thoroughly consistent work to date and matched with some of the best production Killah Priest has ever worked with. In 2010 Killah Priest let the world know he was back to reclaim his throne and take his rightful place on the world stage of Hip Hop.

The Roots - "How i go over" (New CD) (Preview)
When it was announced that the Roots would be Jimmy Fallon's house band when he took over for Conan O'Brien, fans of the legendary Philadelphia crew were worried that would mean the band was over as a recording entity. Drummer ?uestlove put that talk to rest quickly after, however, Twittering that the band was working on their 11th album, titled How I Got Over. There's no word on what style the band will strive for, like whether or not they'll return to the acoustic jazz of their earlier albums or the synthy blasts of their previous albums, Game Theory and Rising Down.

Reef The Lost Cauze - "Fight Music" (New CD)(2010)(Preview)
Once regarded as Philadelphia Hip-Hop's best kept secret, Reef the Lost Cauze is no longer the best underground MC you've never heard of: he's ready to shed the title once and for all and become a household name. The battle-tested MC is poised to have a breakthrough year in 2010: not by switching up his style or conforming to ready-made ideals of mainstream acceptability, but rather by staying true to the basic formula of raw rhymes and murderous beats. Reef stands as the new sound of Philadelphia. He carries with him the city's long-standing tradition of musical history and innovation.
After dropping two critically-acclaimed albums 2005's Feast or Famine and 2008's A Vicious Cycle, Reef has teamed with producers Guns-N-Butter(aka Stu Bangas, J-Scrilla and Chop-la-Rok) as well as some high-profile rappers like Kool G.Rap, Vinnie Paz( of Jedi Mind Tricks), R.A the Rugged Man, Slaine(La Coka Nostra), Big Noyd, Akir, Bloodsport, King Magnetic, and K-Beta for the 13 rounds of raw rap that comprise his latest album, Fight Music. From the braggadocio raps on songs like "I'm a G" to the introspective rhymes of "Get me Outta Here" Reef's lyrical dexterity finds a welcome home on Guns-N-Butter's neck snapping soundtracks.

Rhymefest - 'El Che' (2010) (New CD) (Preview)
The Chicago, IL-based Rhymefest first gained national attention as the co-songwriter of Kanye West's Grammy-winning "Jesus Walks." His association with West actually went back several years prior; the MC's independently released Raw Dawg, issued in 2001, was produced entirely by a pre-fame West. Later signed to Mark Ronson's J Records-distributed Allido label, Rhymefest put together Blue Collar for a March 2006 release. Its first single, "Brand New," also featured production from West, as well as extensive assistance from No I.D. (Common, G-Unit). The two remain close friends today with Rhymefest recently returning from Hawaii where they were collaborating on Kanye's forthcoming project. The new project from Rhymefest, entiteld El Che is a smart urban hip hop record addressing contemporary issues with strong melodic hooks. It's a bit of a thowback with live drums, horns, and guitar, bass and background vocals. Features and guest MCs include: Phonte, El, Little Brother & Darien Brockington and Slique.

Copywrite - "T.H.E. High Exhaulted: 8th Anniversary Edition" (2010) (New CD)(Preview)
In 2002 the Hip Hop Underground was introduced to a classic album from Copywrite and producer RJD2 both hailing from the super group MHz. The album "T.H.E. High Exhaulted" released on E.C. Records was poorly promoted and undershipped from the very begining. However RJD2's 'Dead Ringers" had already come out and featured the track "June" with Copywrite and was a huge success. Whatever copies were available were quickly consumed and later re sold on sites like Ebay and Amazon. With "T.H.E High Exhaulted" being out of print and selling for upwards of $40 on some sites, Copywrite and Man Bites Dog Records felt it necessary to update and re-release this classic. Featured on this 8th Anniversary Edition are 12 of the orginal tracks plus 8 new tracks including two very rare remixes (One by RJD2). These new tracks bridge a gap from 2002 to where we find Copywrite today, who is working on his opus "The Life and Times of Peter Nelson". With new artwork, new tracks and a remaster of the orginal album this record will surely become a classic once again.
