Is there any recommended way of eating while not doing the WD? Due to school I can only do WD 5 days a week. I'm thinking of one day higher carbs, the other higher in fats and proteins.

I feel you. I've been "graciously" handed a 7:00-9:20 class on MW, starting next week, so it will be interesting to see how I manage sticking to the WD on these days... I might just make those days water-only fasting, or perhaps a whey/milk/EFA shake before bed. I think the kids will notice if I'm spaced-out from feasting @ 6:00 PM, since my feast makes me pretty much worthless for anything during the rest of the evening, other than television-watching, sex, or sleep.

How big are your post-workout meals? I started having milk and a ham sandwich but that seems like too much for some reason, especially considering that my feast is 2-3 hours later. Should I just cut out the sandwich?

I'm taking a sports nutrition class in school next semester. That's going to be interesting. I'm going to tell her I do this twice a week and see what she thinks of that.
They're gonna teach me about the food pyramid

Thought this might be good to add here.
Link to an article on the Warrior Diet site on recovery meals.
Edit: actually putting the link in, is a good idea

She'll probably try and have you placed in a psychiatric institution.
You should see how many of my colleagues think I've absolutely lost my mind for eating WD-style. They assure me that I'm going to wreck my metabolism, lose all of my muscle, develop estrogenic-fat deposits, kill brain cells, have no energy, and become a big fatty. All this as I keep getting leaner, more muscular, and feel 10 years younger, while their FDA-approved diets and medications continue to do nothing for them...
If there's one thing I've learned, it's: "Most people are stupid. Even smart ones."

It's killing me eating during the day. I'm not really that hungry and even though I am still probably adjusting to the undereating phase, I was at a point that I would eat an apple in the morning, have a glass of milk for "lunch" and snack on a couple of nuts every once in a while and that was enough. I was still kind of hungry but every day it was getting easier for me to not have to snack on the nuts as much and eating at night in a short amount of time was becoming easier and I could get more of what I needed without feeling overfeed. Damn it school!

So I'm on day 2 of WD and its been pretty tough on my. Eating my salad and broth has only made me want to eat something large and four legged.
This morning was actually easier than yesterday though so maybe there is hope. The dog better lay low once I get home though

ok i read most of the book and if i remember it says not to go longer than 16-18 hrs of fasting. So how do some of ya'll go all day without eating till 5 or later? If you finish your meal at 9 ish than 18 hours puts you around 1-3 ,you should have something to eat right? But some of yall arent eating till 5,6 or even later.
Right now Im hungry. My last meal was finished about 9 last night so Im gonna have a snack. But if I am missing something clue me in please!

I do eat...usually juice/coffee in the morning (~7AM), a bit of fruit or veggies late morning (~10AM), a few (very few) mixed nuts (~3pm), then WO around 5-6 and eat 6-9.

I'm thinking I'll have to do something similar. Yesterday I had 2 bananas and a side salad, oh and some sunflower seeds throughout the day. Then some protein before I went and worked out. Then I had my dinner. So today I tried to do better and I did but finally had to eat something, another banana. I feel good now. Hopefully I will get better and my body adjusts more.

From the way I understand it the undereating phase is not a real fast per se. If you are hungry it is ok to eat a small amount of "live" food. Today I had the following.
7am - Orange, coffee
10am - banana, coffee
12pm - can of beef broth and small salad
2:30pm - banana
When I get home I'll have the salad again and then destroy whatever edible thing that gets into my path (ie smoked chicken tetrazini)

I usually fast from midnight to 6:00 PM -- 18 hours. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and eat some cheese and nuts, but this is only if I haven't eaten enough during my eating window.
It's really not hard once your body gets used to it. I have pretty much zero appetite during the day, but once it gets dark and 6:00 starts drawing near, my cravings start, because this is around the time that my body has been trained to expect food.

so how bad to you think my day was yesterday.
morning-water
noon-banana after first class
afternoon-after classes i did the crossfit WOD and had a snickers marathon bar
evening- main meal consisting of English muffin, can of peas, half pound of hamburger, an apple, KIX cereal with 2 cups of milk.
was thinking of having mac and cheese with sausage rather than the muffin, hamburger, and cereal.
read the book twice and still not sure if i completely grasp the ideas.
1 meal a day.
no set calories.
veggies/fruit then meats then carbs (progress of main meal.)
as little processed food as possible
lots of water
snack on uncooked food during the day if needed (carrot, apple, a few peanuts, ect) try to stay under 400cal the lower the better (my rule. i have to have at least 1 apple a day or i will get a migraine)Last edited by thenoob; 01-13-2009 at 06:01 PM.

Hey OP do you want to put this link in the first post? Its the WD Fat Loss Plan that you can find here - http://www.defensenutrition.com/warr..._program_ebook. I uploaded because I know people will be requesting sample eating plans and whatnot.
