DRIVEN Sports (DS) Needs Testers: Lean Xtreme v2.1
You've all been waiting for it and even though bodybuilding.com has yet to formally put it on the site, it is once again time for the good people of this site to give up some feedback on the next generation of high quality body recomposition products. Past, present, future, bulkers, cutters, recompers alike - all may apply.
Countless have already experienced the effectiveness of our original Lean Xtreme and the subsequent Lean Xtreme v2.0 from Designer Supplements guru Matt Cahill and his development team.....the new formulation from Driven Sports simply raises the bar....about 2 fold. Here at bodybuilding.com DS will be accepting testers (once again, no specific number in mind...just the best candidates available) to log and offer their opinion of the new Lean Xtreme as a solo supplement for cutting, bulking, or recomping. Obviously in traditional DS fashion, logs will be extensively followed by the team and feedback will be free and frequent.
Simply put, Lean Xtreme is the best non-stimulant based fat burner ever made. That is a lofty claim, we know; but we also believe it?s true. Lean Xtreme targets multiple pathways to assist fat loss while lowering cortisol, maintaining muscle tone and optimizing the body?s immune function in order to promote the ideal fat burning, muscle sparing environment. That?s a mouthful, so let us explain how it works and get a little technical.
Cortisol, the stress hormone, alters the way your body stores fat, essentially increasing levels of what is known as visceral adipose tissue (VAT) or in layman?s terms, the solid belly fat that plagues most human beings. VAT is very difficult to lose when cortisol levels remain excessive. The weight loss issue is further compounded by cortisol?s effect on the thyroid gland.
Thyroid output is directly correlated with metabolic rate and weight loss, governing both muscle building (via protein synthesis) and fat burning. High stress levels from increased cortisol levels can exhaust the adrenals and negatively impact the release of thyroid hormones T3 and T4. Cortisol also has a prominent impact on appetite, affects bone density, suppresses the immune system and negatively affects cognitive performance such as memory and quick thinking. To summarize, too much cortisol can be very damaging to your body.
Lean Xtreme utilizes 7-OH, Phosphatidylserine and 5-AT to control cortisol, enhance thyroid and lower stress levels by influencing cytokines responsible for inflammation and cortisol signaling. Lean Xtreme also includes Forskolin to improve body composition and signal optimal testosterone levels. A high potency Green Tea Extract (EGCG) is added for the wide array of health benefits, including its amazing ability to further advance the immune system, boost fat loss and prevent future fat gains. Through the use of DS? new Extended Release Technology, Lean Xtreme provides a consistent release of its ingredients to allow for constant cortisol control and fat loss.
When you diet, your body fights to hold onto as much body fat as it can, making your efforts at weight loss extremely difficult. At the other end of the spectrum, when bulking, your body is more than happy to take on extra body fat in preparation for future diets. The new and improved Lean Xtreme prepares for the potential issues that arise during both of these times and is therefore an excellent tool for dieting and lean bulking. In both instances, Lean Xtreme is a necessary ingredient for successful body recomposition, making it one of the most versatile and effective products on the market.
Criteria:
18yrs +
No current androgen usage
Not currently on PCT
Not to be used with any other products that are NEW TO YOU. (IE, if you have experience with something in the past and want to run it with LX, that is likely okay.)
Previous use of other true recomp products ideal, but not necessary
Providing pics also not required, but definitely won't hurt your chances
You guys know the drill. Post up why you think you'd be a good tester:
Past/present/future goals.
Diet/training.
Past/Current Logs.
Recommendations for others.
Or anything else you'd like us to know. Basically, why should I pick you?
Please do not apply if you have other logging obligations to fulfill
Testers will be selected whenever I feel we have enough candidates and if chosen as a tester, the expectation is that you will keep an accurately detailed log of your experience and report back at this board and any other board you see fit. DS has been pretty loose about selections in the past, taking some relative newbies and first time loggers along with some of the forum vets, so PLEASE don't hesitate to throw your name in if you think you can do a good job. Post here in the thread and do not PM me unless you have specific questions about the product.
Thanks and best of luck to all applicants.

Here is my story
My goals are to get my waist back down to 32''. Its currently around 38-40''
Diet is low carb, high protein, with moderate EFA's . MOstly protein shakes, chicken, veggies, Olive Oil, fish oil caps.
Training is totally different. Lift 3 days per week with super sets, high reps, short rests, after lifting, HIIT cardio alternate with medium intensity cardio. Then 3 days/ week cardio with kettle bells, using a guided video
This would be my first log
I would like to do this because I have blood test to prove high cortisol. I have read about the bad effects of cortisol outside of body composition and want it lowered. Also, I have read about how good the new formula is.

I also work hard in the gym and being an ex-wrestler I know how to diet and cut weight effectively and in conjunction with Lean Xtreme v2.1 I think I could attain great results.

Past/present/future goals. I JUST had ankle reconstructive surgery *as in january 8th* and its gonna put a toll on certain things i do. but while im limited to what i can do in the gym, i still want to continue to lose weight, and drop my bodyfat.
Diet/training.
Diet looks like this: 5-6 meals, 8oz meat, 1-2 cups veggies, 20-30 almonds, 2-3 whey/casien shakes during the day
Training has changed because of no weight bearing on the ankle, im on a 4 day, Upper Body Power/Hypertrophy split
Past/Current Logs.
done quite a few, most recent would be my sponsored controlled labs blue gene log, link is in my SIG
Or anything else you'd like us to know. Basically, why should I pick you?
Im gonna be the hardest working kid in the gym. because of no weight bearing, im gonna have to push the rest of my body that much harder to make up for the stuff im not doing in the lower body area. i wanna continue to cut down my bodyfat, and this product would be the one to help. this would be a great test to the product, seeing if it can help someone like me who is limited in the gym.
not pretty pictures but...heres what im stuck with

Past/present/future goals: Presently I am looking to continue losing bodyfat. In the future I would like to add some serious size, but not until I lose the excess bodyfat that I have. I am overweight from a lifetime of not knowing anything about diet and training and eating poor etc. Everyone in my family is overweight and it is just the type of lifestyle I grew up in. It wasn't until 10th grade or so when I decided I wanted to change things. I starved myself, lost an unhealthy amount of weight, but quickly gained it all back after a fight with depression (enough of the life story though)
I am now still overweight though I've gained a lot of muscle and do consider myself healthy.
Diet/training: Diet is my weak factor now. I don't keep track of it as well as I should...I think the problem now is I need to eat MORE...I think I'm cutting back too much. I am looking to adding a couple more shakes and I am eating more steak and chicken. The big problem now is eating while I'm at work. Diet on days off from work is solid though.
M - Biceps/Upper Back
T - Triceps/Chest
W - Just cardio
T - Legs
F - Shoulders/lower back (if I feel up to it)
I have a lower back injury that has kept me from training lower back for a while now...Each time it feels good enough to go again my next workout puts me back in pain so I typically don't even try anymore...
I do cardio in the form of basketball every day that I can get to the gym (normally 4 days of basketball a week) and try to run 2-3 miles eod.
Abs are eod as well but I also notice some lower back pain when I work my abs so I haven't done them lately either.
Past/Current Logs: I have done a lot of logs in the past and I'm currently just finished up with Animal Cuts. I have logged things for you guys as well (not the new company) so I will refrain from posting links to things here.
Recommendations for others: I dunno what that means but if I see a good app I will give them a shoutout.
Or anything else you'd like us to know: Basically, why should I pick you?
I loved LX and I hope to get to try this to compare it to the older version and to further help myself reach my goals.
Thanks for the opportunity to apply for this log.

Past/present/future goals.
Past goals have been pretty standard, bulk and cut, etc. Presently I am trying to focus more on re composition while maintaining strength. I would like to stay around 7-8% BF at 190 lbs. That is probably my ideal weight, and in my profession as a personal trainer I find it is a good size. Most of my clients don't want someone with a larger physique as a trainer because they think I will train them like a bodybuilder. My future goals are about the same, I want to maintain my weight and BF%, but I intend to check out some of the local shows this year to see how the competition looks and figure out if I really have what it takes to step on stage.
Diet/training.
Current diet is the Palumbo style diet. Carb re-feed once a week. My body reacts well to this style of eating and I find once I make the switch from carbs to fat for energy that I just feel better overall. It is very easy for me to gain weight when I include carbs in my diet so I monitor it closely. Its not for everyone but personally I love it and have not found anything that works better.
Training is currently a 4 day split, down from 6 days a week that I used to do. Monday and Tuesday I do a lot of supersets and tri-sets, Thursday and Friday I do not because I consider my legs and shoulders my weaknesses so I want to focus just on them. Abs are done twice a week whenever I feel like it. No set schedule for them because I think core exercises and movements work them better. Of course if I am chosen to log my complete diet and workout will be posted on a daily basis, but here is the general outline:
Monday: Chest & Back
Tuesday: Arms
Thursday: Legs & Calves
Friday: Shoulders
Cardio is 4 days a week as well, 45-60 minutes, low to moderate intensity. Usually around 120 bpm.

I've never used LX before, for whatever reason I don't know why. But I have experience with Thyrotabs, Dicana and other non-stims that I can compare the results to. I think this product is exactly what I am looking for to achieve my current goals and would provide an honest and detailed log with progress pics as well. I never miss a day of training since I work at a gym and can update pretty much everyday.
Thanks

I was always a chubby kid and looked up to my father's physique. He was an amateur boxer and bodybuilder in his spare time. I thought he was the strongest man in the world, so I always looked up to him. In my late teens I decided to do something about being a weakling and jumped on his training routine. We sparred, hit the heavy/speed bag, pushups, situps, pullups, plus weight training. As my body changed and became stroner, I noticed he started looking at my differently. From there I was addicted. I started workout out for my father, and now I lift for my own aspirations.
Now I work as a clerk and workout at the famous Hyde Park Gym in Austin, TX. It's a very humbling experience to work with a Natural Pro such as Dave Goodin. Every day I learn something new.
Workout routine: Currently I'm on a upper/lower split with biceps at the start of my lower body day. I'm usually too fatigue to hit them hard at the end of an upper day, and they serve as a decent warm-up for squats and deads. Great to get some blood flowing without burning out my legs.
Upper 1
BB bench
seated BB OH press
DB rows
pull-ups
skull crushers
Lower 1
BB curls
squats
SLDLs
leg curls
standing calf raises
Upper 2
incline BB press
DB OH press
BB rows
lat pulldowns
dips
Lower 2
seated DB curls
dead lifts
front squats
lunges
seated calf raises
Cardio: I'm not a fan of the ballistic cardio when dieting, so I mostly stick to brisk walking and cycling. I try to use my car less and foot power more. Saves gas money and gets you shredded, right?
Monday - Saturday
1 hour of walking per day. Either 1 hour sessions or split up into two 30 minute intervals. Usually first thing in the morning and in the afternoon.
Supplements used:
Sam's Club multi-V
Sam's Club fish oil
Xtend/Purple Wraath
Prolab creatine monohydrate
Sam's Club joint complex (if needed)
Diet: Currently I am wrapping up a bulk, so I am eating everything in sight. Starting 1/12/09 I plan on starting a recomp. I am a fan of carb. cycling, so I'll use the Scivation Cut Diet. High protein, moderate fat, low carb, and a carb refeed every 3 days. I used this diet last year with great success training for a local contest, and I plan on looking even leaner and harder this year.
Short Term Goal: Lean out for spring/summer
Long Term Goal: Overcome genetic defects (acute lumbar scoliosis) and live a meaningful & healthy life.

I'm going to. I loved the other a lot and had really decent results even when my diet wasn't on par. I'm so much further from where I was then in training and diet that if this works as good or better than the other it's going to rock. Also, I am under a lot of stress so I know my cortisol levels have got to be way high. I've been slimming down a lot in most areas, but my stomach is still a problem area.
