Beginner 5x5=same weight; intermed. = progression, right?

Just starting Madcow's 5x5 workout, I use the same weight for all five sets, right? Once I switch to intermediate, it goes 60% 70% 80% 90% 100% per set?

When do I switch from beginner to intermediate?

Completely wrong. Did you read this?:

Madcow does not provide a "beginner" version of the Starr program (though I believe Starr does have one).

Intermediate uses ramping weights, advanced uses straight sets.

So if you're going to do intermediate, make it easy on yourself, plug your maxes into the worksheet below, and it will all be laid out for you:
