My question is what kind of diet plan would I have to have to gain muscle and lose fat? Right now my diet isn't good, I mean for breakfast I have oatmeal and my other two meals include beef chicken or fish, a starch and a veggie. I'm trying to work on portion control right now b/c I can eat, ha. I tried the calorie deficit thing and it worked but it only lasted for the moment and then I gained back the weight. It's somewhat difficult for me to eat 5-6 meals a day b/c of schedule. I'm just trying to figure out a healthy lifestyle that will help me reach my fitness goals.
I have a good workout plan but I know it doesn't matter if my diet is messed up. Also, do I have to count calories and macros?
Any insight that someone could give me I'd be happy to receive. Thanks

Honey, you're going to have to make time to figure out how to eat right if you want to do it properly. Everybodys body is different. That right there is going to take time to figure out what's going to be beneficial for yours. One person giving you a diet will not work. In fact, I don't think anyone here will give you just one answer and you'll be done and never have to look up this info again. SO first things first, you're going to have to make time to research, whether it be by asking questions or going through past posts, etc. If you want to feel good about yourself and treat your body right, trust me, you will enjoy the research.
To answer part of your question, I'd start looking into books such as the EAT CLEAN DIET or the book that I use by Tom Venuto BURN THE FAT/FEED THE MUSCLE. That book taught me the exact caloric intake I should be having daily, taught me how to do macros, taught me what foods are CLEAN, and how to pair up my 5/6 meals a day. I'm not going to lie, having a busy schedule, and wanting to eat this way is NOT easy, but can be done if you have the drive and motivation to do so. There are ways to get around those dilemmas though.
Also, low calorie diets don't work, especially if you are working out. Actually, sometimes eating too little calories and maintaining a active lifestyle will make you PUT on weight or keep you at a standstill with weightloss.
See how much there is to learn about this stuff? I'm just breaking the surface... hell, I'm just scratching the surface. Lol, just be patient.
