Should your abs feel sore after an ab workout?

    I'm wondering why mine don't.

    I'm doing

    25 exercise ball crunches
    25 leg lifts
15 weigted ab crunches on execise ball ... 20lbs dumbbell.

Then I do a few squats as well

if you workout your abs everyday they will not feel sore. if you do em once a week you will most likely be sore.

a common theme in this forum is that soreness does not indicate strength. find what works best for you and go with it. (weighted or high reps)

Your core has huge endurance.. mostly made up of slow twitch fibers because its constantly working.. just to stand up your core muscles work.. so you can work them alot and they will recover pretty fast.. thats why people tell you to do them often.. if your using heavy weight and you really blast them they will be sore though. I know after some MMA classes my abs are sore as fu ck when i wake up.

Because you want your core to be strong when doing squats. If it's weak it'll **** you up and you could get injured easily.

    I think?

    I think?
right you want the core to be able to effectively hold up that extra weight, especially in squats and deadlifts
