Lower back pain not caused during a workout???

    Hi

    Thanks for looking.

I have only recently started lifting again after about 6 months off.

I have been weight training for the last 3 weeks and think I may have thrown my self back in too hard.

I definitely have had some effects of over training but today I was doing some gardening work and just developed a major pain in my lower back which has eased slightly due to rest.

I am wondering if this has happened because of over doing the lifting, also I have been doing dead lifts which I have never been a great fan of and I'm sure my form was poor, my last workout was legs.

How long do you think I should rest before another workout and should I cut the intensity, weight or reps or a bit of all three.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Lifting with poor form is a sure way to hurt yourself. Before you start lifting heavy, make sure your form is OK. Make a video and post it for a form check.

edit: obligatory "go see a doctor" comment.....we can't diagnose you here, so if it continues to be an issue you should really go see a doctor, back problems can be very tricky.

Thanks, That's all I can think it could be but it is strange that it has only happened 2 days after my work out and not during it.
