About to order a 'weight gainer' to help with my bulking.
Between
Mutant Mass
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/pvl/mutantmass.html
Universal Real gains

Is the quality of these 2 gainers equal? Not going to be to fussy on taste just want to know what ingredient profile is best.
-Thanks

I would personally go for real gains just because you can get twice the servings for the same price as Mutant Mass. Mutant Mass has a little more isoleucine and valine, but Real Gains should be more than enough. And yes, carbs are good pre-workout, so it'd be good to take either before a workout.

as with all gainers that have above 800 cals, i would cut the dosage in half and drink at different times throughout the day
the sugar content is NOT high, a serving of grape juice has 38g of sugar. also, the fat content is not saturated or trans fat, but rather different oils (good fat). i suggest people read the ingredient list before making conclusions. the carb source is also low GI (making it better for body composition)in my honest opinion, this gainer may be my new favorite along with up your mass.

At 1 or 2 scoops you don't get as much protein as real gains, at full serving its VERY expensive and if you buy a carb supp seperatly and add to real gains it will still probably be cheaper per serving (even though real gains has enough carbs as it is), also it has 29g of sugar and 18g which not everyone wants (even in a gainer), oh and did I mention its expensive as ****?

I have been making my own weight gainers.. first thing in the morning i just rather drink a 'weight gainer' shake and follow it by a real breakfest 1-2 hours after.
-Post workout i don't have the 5mins to make a gainer within 60-90mins of my workout. So again i want to drink a premade 'weight gainer' shake and follow it by a real meal when i'm home.

it also
1. has not nearly as much sugar as your making it out to be. a serving of grape juice has more sugar
2. it uses GOOD fat
3. the prices per serving are the same if you cut mutant mass in half. the ingredients are of higher quality as well.
4. the op did not ask about price or valueLast edited by michael3435; 01-05-2009 at 08:03 PM.
