I'm a firm believer to build muscle you want to maintain a positive nitrogen balance... thus for every kg of body weight... you want on average 2.56-2.76 g of protein. Tarnopolasky et al say 1.0-1.8 g / kg BW is sufficient. The RDA is .8g / kg of BW
