Before...
(Lightest Ive been 176ish)
180ish here...
AFTER - End of 4 month Bulk...220-225...Added roughly 40 Pounds - Havent tanned in like 2 weeks, and I for some reason used the natural white light coming from the window, instead of more flattering yellow light
UnFlexed pic
So went from 180-185 to 220-225...Everything went up obviously, I max bench 230-240 (Never tried a 1 rep Max benching), I can curl with one arm 70-75lbs (5 reps), Leg press about a 1000 lb's (5 reps)
I did the 5x5 plan for the bulk of the bulk, no cardio, ate pretty much anything I wanted to, but still stuck to Whole Grains, no Corn Syrups, Baked Chips...I had some cheaty things when they were there, for B-days and Holidays, Drank booze ~every weekend
The Comments I've gotten are:
"Jesus Christ your huge" - from some of my bros friends, that havent seen me in a while
"Holy ****!" - From my brothers GF, when she first saw my arms after a year of not seeing me
"Are you taking steroids?" - from several people
"are you like professionally bodybuilding or something?" - my friends GF
I only used, Creatine and Whey, as my only supplements
Girls love me muscles...but now its time to cut back down, hopefully able to get a 6 pack this time around
Now my strategy is, im going to go back to Keto, eating higher Keto calories, but dropping the water and Glycogen weight, adding Cardio, then dropping calories after the 1st 3 weeks or so and probably dropping the creatine then as well, then continue to drop more calories as it goes on, and adding more cardio

Well, the bad news is that the body can only add 2-3 pounds of muscle per month naturally. This means that you added about 8-12 pounds of muscle and 28-32 pounds of fat. Then, you'll probably lose 3-4 pounds or more of the gained muscle while you lose those 30 pounds of fat for a net gain of 5-8 pounds of muscle over 7-8 months.
I've made this mistake a couple times thinking I was getting huge, dieting back down, and realize I gained a fraction of what I expected. I thought I'd be up to my goal of 225 pounds at 8% by now. Hah, not even close! I train my tail off and eat heartily when I bulk and diet strictly when I cut. The key is to bulk slowly so you can bulk for a longer time before you have to cut.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but diet back down to a true 10% and see if you don't lose almost all of your gains.Last edited by Chris@UGA; 01-03-2009 at 11:58 AM.

For adding 40lbs...I didnt really add to much of a gut at all, the layer of fat on my stomach is only a little thicker now, my thigh fat is a bit more as well...My chest is alot bigger as are my arms, if It doesnt seem like I added that much fat to much stomach or thighs (the only places I really store fat)...then where did the 40lbs go? If I did add ~30lbs of fat, then i dont know where it went, because the minor layer of fat that was added to my stomach and legs does not equal up to 30lbs. My Younger brother whose 6'3"-4, weighs 230 and has a huge gut, im 3-4 inches shorter, 5-10lbs lighter and dont have a gut nearly his size....What I think could have possibly happened is this
15lbs - water and glycogen (Carb loaded Diet with Creatine)
10-12lbs muscle
13-15lbs - fatGoal: Get a 6 Pack or Die Trying ... And thats not really all that out of the range of possibilities!

I honest to god wish you the best. I'm just saying that you can't gain more than 2-3, possibly 4 pounds at most per month (if you're getting newbie gains) of muscle.
I can't imagine 15lbs of water and muscle glycogen. I'd say 3-5 pounds from creatine and maybe 3-4 pounds of water and muscle glycogen from the high carbs.
Just prepare to lose a lot more weight than you expected when you cut and don't get discouraged.
Also, even though you hold a lot of your fat in the belly and love handles (as I do as well), it does add all over your body evenly. If you gained most of the fat in those areas, you'll still have the equivalent of a month more dieting to lose it in the "other" places as well...assuming 6-8 pounds of fat gained in the "other" parts of your body.
The simple fact is that you shouldn't even gain 40lbs in 4 months if you do a cycle let alone bulking naturally.Last edited by Chris@UGA; 01-03-2009 at 12:26 PM.

From what I can tell you added some good size on your shoulders, biceps, and decent size on your back (looking from the front at how much the latimus dorsi is sticking out from the side) and chest. Unfortunately, you did add quite a bit of fat around the mid section from the pics. I would say you still made good gains. Just slowly cut to minimize as much muscle loss as possible.

To be fair heres a unflexed pic of me when when I was 180ish
Now of course I gained some fat, but I thought that was a given when you bulk, I didnt start having the lil love handles untill I was about 210lb's...Dirtier bulk = didnt count cals....For being 40lbs heavier, you can hardly notice in clothes (cept that my chest and arms are almost about rip apart every shirt I own)....and comparatively to all the people I know who are 220-230 (my dad and younger brother)...I look a helluva alot better...Hopefully the excess fat gains should be the easiest to come offGoal: Get a 6 Pack or Die Trying ... And thats not really all that out of the range of possibilities!

how can you not count cals on any sort of regime? not neccessary every day but did you atleast ball park it somewhat...40 lbs in 4 months is a **** tonne of fat, some muscle of course but you wouldve been better starting at 180 with a diet 200-300 over maintenance and gone up from there lifting your bag off till summer you wouldve been happier i think and couldve skipped the fat gain/tough time losing it with a solid culk plan, just sayin..and yes culk...it is something that works....and why compare yourself to your dad and younger brother? if you are the one on here and hittin the weights it should be a given your more muscular why dont you compare yourself to other lifters at your size and height and you would realize that what you did isnt overly impressive...im not tryin to hate or bag you out to bad..just wondering if you did your research before eating the crazy amount of food without the workload to match?

Yeah dude, you got big but you put on a lot of fat. 40 lbs in 4 months is more fat than muscle. You gained per week what most guys aim to gain per month. I also don't feel you gain any additional muscle overshooting your calories like you did. Had you have gained half that much weight I bet you would look twice as good right now. Whats done is done though. You will still look fine after you cut but you'll just have to cut much longer.
