I'm the first to admit to being domestically disabled. I clean it out (meaning get rid of food) when it smells or when I notice something growing in it. I generally notice either when putting away groceries.
If you mean actually wiping down the shelves, etc. only when I spill or when I get the cleaning bug, which is about once every few years. lol.

I must be a total spazz then? I clean it out, like wipe the shelves and everything, really good every week. I throw things away if they've been sitting there and no one has eaten it, or if it's expired or something...I hate dirty things.

no you're fine. I should be the same but I got lazy lol.
I throw things away weekly if need be although I try not waste food.

Me too. Usually I try to consume mostly everything before splurging on more food, in hopes that nothing goes to waste. (:

Do you live alone at the moment?
I always hated cooking for one.

Sweet.
it's all good prep. Don't feel bad for wanting to make sure everything is good. Knowing how to cook/clean etc is definitely something that helps keep a marriage happy.
*I know that sounds silly but it's true*
Just remember though there's nothing wrong with letting him lend a helping hand.

No, you are not a spazz, you can however come to my house for a day or two!!!! lol. Totally cleaning challenged.
A little marriage advice. First congrats!!!! I am on my second marriage, I FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!!!!! Make sure you make him do his fair share. I pampered mine and he forgot everything he knew for the first 38 years of his life (including washing clothes). Don't cut up his meat, he will expect it, don't cook every meal, he will expect it. Don't leave the trash in the trash can in hopes he will "get the hint" it will only pile up on the counter!!!!!!!!!!! Serioulsy, congrats again and good luck. Pamper him and love him and he will smile forever!!!!!!!!!! And so will you!!!

I'm lucky. My hubby hates messy trash cans. He hates even a slightly dirty toilet and cleans these things on his own.
However, I can't seem to get him to clean the fridge! That's "my" job and I don't really like it...so it doesn't get a deep-cleaning as often as it should. hehe

I'm a clean freak. And I'm think I'm germaphobic (is that even a word?). I just have to have everything neat and clean, at least in the kitchen and fridge and place like that. I try to keep my room clean too, but at the moment it's gotten a bit too messy for me. I'll be back, need to go clean the room .

haha thanks ladies
My baby is a sweetie pie, he always helps out when we're together! =D
I know he'll continue to help when we're married.
I just feel like I should do a lot for him though. I mean, when he's at home, he has to be at work around 4 am, and sometimes he doesn't even get home till 6 or 7. What a looong day. Considering his line of work, and simply considering everything he has done for me - I can't wait to cook his meals and do his laundry XD It's the LEAST I could do.

Clean out all the extras every other week and big cleaning like once a month. Or just when it seems dirty.

For the first while I'll be staying at home.
I'm immigrating to the USA from Canada, so I wont be able to work for a while anyways. I'm thinking about becoming a hair dresser :P nothing fancy! But that probably wont be for a few years.
When we have kids though I will def. stay at home.

A good marriage is based on give and take...so...since you like to cook and clean, you husband, conversely, should like to eat and make a mess...it'll keep all involved busy and happy

Would it be bad if I said that since my wife and I moved in together almost 6 years ago I could count on one hand the amount of times I have done a load of washing, and I still have fingers left over.

My husband does most of the cooking and food shopping. His mom comes to clean the house. I do the laundry and take out the trash. Sound silly?
I clean the fridge if I take something out and go 'ew'...which ends up being every couple months. If something drips I don't leave it but I don't clean the fridge if it doesn't need it.

I don't think so.
To be honest I'd rather my husband doesn't do much anyways, besides like...manly things...like ...idk, fixing the car or something... XD
