I cannot imagine a scenario in which HMB would be more beneficial than BCAA. Not that a BCAA supplement is necessary, but if you are choosing between the two, the choice is easy.
As far as a bulk, I would probably take 10g or so BCAA immediately upon waking up in the morning followed by another whole protein+carb source. Another option would be to have 10g or so pre- and/or post-workout in addition to whatever you do currently.
