it definitely helps a ton with soreness. it flushes out all the lactic acid from my workouts too which helps a lot because before i found out about ice baths i'd go to practice really tight and my legs always felt like $hit.
idk if ice baths would help anyone here. maybe take one after a leg day?
i highly highly highly recommend it for athletes that run a lot though.
i was a believer the first time i took one. it hurts like hell, especially by your feet, like the first 2-3 minutes, but after that your legs start to get numb and it feels damn good.
just try it after a leg day and you'll feel like a new man lol.
fill your tub with cold water just high enough to cover your legs. then pour in 2 or 3 bags of ice that you can get from a gas station or something and sit there, legs straight out, for about 10 minutes. trust me you'll feel like doing another workout after the ice bath. it's amazing how fresh my legs feel after i take one

the hardest part is getting through the first 2-3 minutes. it's REALLY hard to stay in because it ****ing hurts. when your legs start getting numb it feels great though.

the evidence is me and a crapload of athletes from my school have fresh legs after an ice bath. might not work for everyone. you should try it. once you get past the first few minutes of pain your legs feel really good.
again, i don't know if this would have any benefit for bodybuilders, but it sure as hell helps for people that run a lot

icebaths are old-school broscience
they made be hardcore, but they wont help you recover - they restrict blood flow, which is the last thing you want after a workoutMy journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=110608191
