Fat+Carbs

Not to sound totally elementary here but I've been reading conflicting things about have fats with carbs. Typically for 2 of my 6 meals in the day I'll cook with olive oil. My first meal I cook about 10-12oz. of chicken breast with 1tbsp of olive oil and mix that into a bowl with 1cup of brown rice. I'll then pour the olive oil that is left in the pan on tip of the rice and chicken.

Another meal I'll mix egg whites with 1tbsp of olive oil with brown rice. I've read some things that say your supposed to eat protein+carbs and protein+fat but never the 3 together. Could somebody please clear this up for me and explain this to me? Thanks

dont worry about the whole insulin response stuff with carbs and fats. ur first meal sounds fine IMO. my first meal has about 75cbs and 20g fat with my 45g protein. eggs, oats and ANPB. its all a game of calories.
