MISC Logo Contest: $40 to the winnar
Alright guys,
I need a logo made. I'm willing to pay the winnar of the contest $40.00 us via paypal.
Here's what I want it to be:
It should say
"Sam the Gladiator . com" in whatever way looks best
I want that gladiator helmet picture below as the 'emblem' or whatever.
And I really like the font on the gladiator picture attached (if you think something else will look better then give it a try though). I'm open to basically anything. I do, however, want the logo being a fun, kind of cartoonish, epic looking logo.
I need this done by January 3rd. The person who designs the best logo gets $40 bucks. Post the images of your work in this thread. Upon me paying, I need the photoshop files and freehand files so I can use them to create tee shirts and crap.

Any logo should be created as a vector, not a rasterized image.
The helmet image is only 100dpi. It needs to be at least 150dpi to have a hope of looking decent in any printed medium. A more preferable size is 300dpi.
If you wish to increase the size of a rasterized image you will suffer a loss of image quality not experienced with a vector image.
I'm not sure if you wanted to use the actual photo of the helmet, or a vector recreation of it, but just in case.
Usually when you're creating a logo it's helpful to know a little background about the use of the logo. What is the target audience of the site? What do you want to logo to say about the site? There is more to logo design than creating a pretty image.

x2. I'm just making one now because I'm bored as hell and can't be bothered using Illustrator. And mine is turning more into an image than a logo.

OP if you're going to pay for a profession logo go to deviantart. This is a horrible place to ask for this kind of thing. Also you need to provide A LOT more information. Putting a few stipulations and saying "use your creativity, blah blah" is my biggest hatred as someone who does graphic design for fun.

x2 I knew there was something I forgot to mention. Just because you find an image on the internet, doesn't mean it's a free use image. Unless the photographer/ author/ alternate copyright holder has expressly stated otherwise, they hold all rights to its use.

yeah i figured recreating it as a vector would be assumed.
I definitely don't want the helmet just copied and pasted. I figured it could be traced however using freehand or whatever other program a graphics person would use.
As far the purpose of the site:
It is going to be a promotional site for my personal training business. I go by Sam the Gladiator as a brand image for myself. The site is going to have a lot of vloging and also be a gateway to gaining clientele for training.
Does this help?

Never even heard of that site. Looks good though. Should I just post on the forum?

Sorry, since you mentioned Photoshop files as well, I wasn't sure how familiar you were with vector vs raster.
Your answers are helpful. What is your targeted clientele? Appealing to pregnant women would require a different style than appealing to teenagers, for example. If your clientele is more diverse, on the other hand, you wouldn't want something that limits your reach by being too trendy or young.
