hey whats the difference between doing barbell bench press, and dumbbell chest press?
Is there any difference?
i heard using dumbbells requires you to use more control and stuff, is this true?
and is using dumbbells still as good as using a barbell for beginners? cause i dont put a ton of weight on my barbell anyways,

Depending on what your goal is whether it be strength or whatever. From a powerliftering stand point Barbell press will help you train more for mass and strength. If you ever notice you can Bench a lot more than what you can press with dumbell's. Not saying that dumbells wont help you gain strength, but it works your muscle in a different way. You have to stabilize much more with dumbells than you would with the barbell. Dumbells are good because you can take out a lot of secondary muscle groups and also helps you shape and sqeeze the muscle that you are working. Neither is better than the other I switch back and forth between Barbell and dumbell. It all depends where you are at in you training and what you are trying to accomplish. Although if you are a beginner, you should start with dumbells. This will help you on your form and you dont have to go heavy to work the chest. Then switch to barbell when you think you are readyIt's not a sprint, its a marathon
