I exspect that my friend...
MustafaAslan get unbanned now!
Its disgusting, that some admins seem to read just the first post and then ban somebody without seeing the context. It has been obvious, that Mustafa had nothing bad in mind and just chose the wrong words in his intitial posting.

Don't worry - As I said in the thread - I am sorting it out...! I agree with you that he should not have been banned and there was obviously a miscommunication somewhere along the line.
I have already started steps so he can be unbanned....

I have to say that the moderators on this board have a hard job. One could look at MustafaAslan's original post one of the following ways:
1) He was sincere in his question "do you think women should participate" in bodybuilding and then stating that in Syria, such a sport would not be encouraged. Often, men do come to this side of the board asking questions like this - with all sincerity.
or
2) That he was *not* sincere in his question and only came to the Female Misc side of the board to start an inflammatory thread that would get some of the regular posters on this side of the board all riled up. THIS HAPPENS A LOT; especially lately.
Unfortunately, the choice of words. . .such as "would not allow" or anything that gives the appearance of being inflammatory, is technically, not supposed to be tolerated per the rules of the FEMALE MISC as listed below. (Originally posted by Mod CT Blue)
So, whomever originally banned MustafaAslan (if it was for his original post at the beginning of the thread), was actually within the perameters of the rules of the Fem Misc for banning. (If that Moderator chose to believe option #2)
And to make this very clear, after I read Mustafa's initial post in the "With All Respect" thread, I choose to believe option #1 - that he was sincere in his questioning; and I provided a very fair response.
The Fem Misc has cycles of pranksters popping over from the regular boards and posting "joke" threads or other inflammatory threads. It appeared, at first glance, that this may have been the case. However, as Emma-Leigh stated, it really was an interesting topic and despite board members requests to have it moved over to the regular misc. section, it remains here, as the original question (if asked with sincerity) could open up an interesting dialogue among people who care to discuss the issue.
Just for general purposes (and not directed at any one person in particular) here is a reminder of the rules of the FEM MISC board.
************************************************** ************************************************** ****************************************
ALL MEMBERS MUST READ AND AGREE WITH THESE BOARD RULES PRIOR TO POSTING. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND A RULE, ASK A MODERATOR BEFORE YOU POST. IGNORING THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN THE DELETION OF YOUR ACCOUNT AND IN CASE OF MULTIPLE COUNTS, THE BANNING OF YOUR IP ACCOUNT FROM THIS SITE !
THE FEMALE BB BOARD RULES
1. This forum is specifically set apart so that women who are interested in bodybuilding and fitness may discuss their issues in an environment free of ridicule and troublemakers. DO NOT come in here to start trouble. If you come here JUST to start trouble, you'll get ONE warning. Then you will be banned! Don't like it, STAY OUT!!! If we get enough complaints from female board members, you WILL BE BANNED!!!!
2. Picture posts need to be handled with a certain amount of respect. There are many women here from many backgrounds, at many stages of training, in many different types of condition. If someone is brave enough to post a picture, please refrain from making derogatory or hurtful remarks. The person is looking for hints, constructive criticism, or praise for their achievements. Put yourself in their position first. If you have nothing constructive to say, keep your big mouth shut.
3. Looking for medical advice is a bad thing. If you have a specific problem that requires a doctors opinion, please consult one. Many people have many opinions based on limited amounts of experience and knowledge. Dont rely on your fellow board members, seek the advice of a professional.
4. Men replying or posting need to be respectful of the fact that this is primarily a womens forum.
Asking specific questions for a female point of view is fine, coming in here looking for dates is frowned upon.
If you come in here and start blatantly hitting on the ladies, you will get one warning, then you will be banned.
Do not come in here with a "check me out" post, that belongs in the "post your pic's" forum and will be moved there, do it again and it's "see ya!"
If you make crude or sexual remarks, no warning, you will be banned. If you make posts ASKING ABOUT SEX you WILL BE BANNED!! This will be strictly enforced, if you want to talk sex, go elsewhere. Having fun and being slightly flirtatious is one thing, making it so the ladies are uncomfortable posting in their forum is unacceptable.
5.Rules for Off topic posts
In the past we have had some trouble with off topic posts.
1. The title of the post needs to start off with "OT : ..."
2. The remainder of the title needs to be an accurate and detailed description of the content, so that members who don't give a damn know whether or not to skip the post.
6. Advertising, Spamming, Illegal Substances
No direct advertising of a product or competing website for means of profit or emailing the members in mass to promote or sell something.. You will be given one warning. Then banned.
No spamming of the website You will be banned without warning.
No posting of sources for illegal items, you will be immediately banned.
Addition: this board is getting out of hand with teen boys and misc forum lurkers making RUDE and UNWANTED posts and replies. This is NOT your forum, get the hell out!
Banning is starting NOW WITHOUT WARNING!

... If this had come from someone who clearly had english as their primary or extremely fluent language, and was from the US- I could see taking it as possible/likely trolling... But he was clearly NOT from the US and while he was conversational- there were clearly issues of there being a language barrier. I agree- he should not be banned and people should realize that not every culture is like the US.

If this had come from someone who clearly had English as their primary language, they would've been banned immediately and probably not before getting his ass kicked all over the board. LOL!
I stand behind the Mod that UN-banned him as well as the one who did. He or she probably thought that they were doing the right thing. But it's been fixed and Mustafa and the thread live to see another e-day! Ha ha ha!
On a serious note, I'm totally annoyed that a PM went to MustafaAslan with threats. That's just chicken-****ty and I hope that it wasn't one of "us" (regular Fem Miscers) who sent it.
The Fem Misc has started to get overrun with trolls - more so than normal. TONS of rule breaking in re: "Rate Me" and "I fapped to two girls pooping." I'm sure they're totally exhausted. At some point, it will all go back to our version of "normal." LOL. (sigh)

I noticed the "6 packs on women are gross" thread still lives on, too. I would guess that it's complaint related. There are way too many stupid threads being left open to believe the poor mods are reading all of them (talk about a crap job).

I left that one open so the OP could be negged by everyone who reads it.
Yes, I banned MustafaAslan , especially after 12 reports by email asking for him to be banned.
If you DON'T like womens bodybuilding, then STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE "FEMALE" Bodybuilding forum.
Plus, when he told some girl to F*#k off, that was it.
If he does not correct the attitude, I will reban him
Oh, and to the OP of this thread
This IS a USA forum with PRIMARILY USA FEMALE members. Sorry, but their concerns come before some obvious mysoginistic male.

with all respect but i can?t agree with that.
It was me, who invited Mustafa to this board. He was never outside of syria so he know only how it is there. It has been clear, that he is nice and asked what he did not understand.
If you agree, that it is ok to insult him, his culture and even his family, then we have nothing to discuss anymore. I?m iranian myself. I know both cultures and i know there are alot differences. Mustafa don?t know that.
It is disgusting to write him, that his mother and sisters should get killed. He don?t understand why he get such messages and to be truth i don?t understand such pathetic behavior either

As a person participating in the discussion in the other thread, I didn't feel insulted in the least. YES his initial post seemed out of line - but after I questioned it, and he responded quiet clearly with his intention in posting, I felt it justified to leave it.
Just because his cultural perspective was different, doesn't mean that it should be 'ignored', and the best way to help him to understand why we 'do this' (aka: participate in bodybuilding) was to have a discussion about our choice.

I have no idea WHAT you are talking about, but that type of behavior is NOT allowed on this board. So we mods need to have PM's like that forwarded to us so we can deal with the member who sent them.
On this board we try to have a little respect for everyone, but those who start the disrespect, get banned.

This opinion about 'US v's NON-US' is confusing to me.
This is an international site.
And should be free for all to use.....
What about the NON USA females? Do we get a choice?

no, but the female members get the say as to what is offensive in here, NOT the males
this is the female section, and when a dozen females report a post as offensive and inflamatory, their requests are taken into consideration well before the male who posted the insulting thread
Female USA members found his post highly insutling and almost every report asked for the "troll to be banned"

After his initial post he was abused by the other members - not only in that thread (where it was suggested in his country people stone woman, and he was 'laughed at' for his 'posting with an accent') but people sent pm's wishing death on his family...
This is why I left the thread - without knowing anything about his country or his actual intent in posting the 'US' members of the boards struck out in anger and abused him. This was when, clearly, his initial post was done not out of 'hatred' but out of curiousity....
Miranda said it best in the other thread: 'Ignorance breeds intolerance’
The best way to prevent intolerance, is to educate BOTH sides....

Actually, the best way to avoid problems is to not come into the female section and start a thread that insults females right off the bat.
He should have deleted the thread right away and started over.
I am sick of the trolls, mysoginistic posts, threads with guys posting womens asses, fapping, etc.. that the scum from the misc seems to start here.
So when an obviously insulting post gets made, and a dozen reports get sent in, it gets deleted and the troll gets banned
he looked like a troll

Agreed - IF it was a 'troll post' then the best way to avoid the issue is not to post.
I also agree / am sick of the troll posts in the female section and the crap that goes on in misc (and is starting to make it's way here)...
But the thread in question was not intended that way.... It was a question that deserved an answer. And it turned into a valid discussion about 'female bodybuilding' and how it is seen in different countries.

It isn't american only. Please don't think it is. I myself am not from America.
Neither is it only for females, we have many men who participate in female discussions regularly.
You have the same rights as as any other board member - As long as you are respectful you are welcome.

I agree that it was a good discussion and he truly seemed to not understand why we do what we do...I wasn't insulted at all actually...just glad to be in a culture where lifting is acceptable and common for women!! In our own country, it wasn't all that common or acceptable not long ago..women were supposed to "stay in the kitchen"...by having these discussions in an intelligent and respectful manner, maybe other cultures will make some changes of their own

Sorry, but their concerns come before some obvious mysoginistic male.

... When I posted to him respectfully, he replied in like manner... IMO it's not surprising or unwarranted that someone (anyone) might tell some girl to F--- off if they were treating him like some on this board have. I just think that a differentiation should be made between cultural differences and the raising of such issues and that of obvious misogynistic posts. This one was, IMO just an instance of cultural differences. But- then again- that works both ways... If you (the mod who banned him) are unfamiliar with other cultures and don't 'get' where he was coming from- I can also see where you'd think he was presenting an anti-woman view. *shrugs* We'll see how it goes from here I guess as far as how he chooses to present himself in the future. But I do think that regardless of whether we are a primarily US board- we should recognize that others DO post here and be a bit sensitive toward reasonably presented questions and posts. (In other words- don't jump to conclusions and assume the best until given reason to do otherwise.) In your case, Blue, you were just doin your job based on 12 reports. So that's directed more to those who did the reporting than to you Just my ramblin two cents...

Look, I had to read his initial post a few times before I choose to decide that he was being sincere and not being a troll.
We've gotten so many STUPID posts lately that belong in the Misc., I will freely admit to, at first, being offended when I read the original post. I was like "DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO THIS? SERIOUSLY?" We wouldn't be here if we didn't, right? It is, after all, a FEMALE section of a BODYBUILDING forum.
After chewing on it a bit, though, I chose to not be reactionary and respond as if the question were a serious question. (Which it was.) But I can VERY clearly see why people had an adverse reaction to the original post.
I also do not fault people for suspecting the O/P of being a troll in regards to the "typing with an accent" remark. I do not believe anyone was making fun of an actual "accent" - but offering that up as probable evidence that he may be a troll. . .that he may be someone who is VERY non-Arab, posing as an Arab to stir up some trouble. Anyone who denies that scenario could be a VERY VALID possibility either hasn't been around on the boards for very long or has had the blissfull ability to miss all of the troll-ish posts that have been going up lately.
I can see both sides of the reactions - with the exceptions of death threats to one's mothers/sisters/etc. THAT is sucky, counterproductive and kind of embarassing, really.

I'm really sorry that I missed the original thread - I had a lot to say (respectful things, of course!)
The "six packs on women are gross" was a lot more insulting than this thread IMO. I understand where Mustafa is coming from, and I also understand that he's never been outside Syria. It's not his fault that he was brought up with a certain set of "beliefs" that just so happen to greatly differ from mine.
Just makes me that much happier to be an American

I'll be curious to see how this plays out, hence I waited to post. I was told I was ignorant, yet, nothing I really said was ever addressed in regards to culture.
BB can and is for a lot of people a religious experiance. That post was imo almost like making a major mistake in someone's church - and very easily avoidable. He should have asked his friend first and any other females he knows. And imo , no one past a certain age can truly be ignorant, not with tv and internet. Sorry, in todays world, the USA/western culture is the most promenient one out there and it bleeds into other countries easily.
imo -He gave a good hook line and lured in some people to sympathsize but as it progressed, it became nothing more than what I expected - woman have to be protected. If a woman has no power in her culture, she is by the very defition a victim - she has no power base unless her family cares or her dowry is secured nicely and cannot be undone.
This situation is exactly the same that I saw 20 years ago at university when foreign students try to assimulate & are in a new culture. Some can, others cannot. When in Rome...

In fairness he said in his country there was no sport of female bodybuilding. He didnt say that he didnt like it, he was just representing another culture.
As for this being a US website, Ive been a member here for the last few years, and in all honesty I take offence to your comments regarding this. Bodybuilding is a universal sport, and I thought this website was too. I dont appreciate people thinking that because we arent from the US our opinions dont count.
