Can i lower my carbs and still build muscle? Are the carbs just basically for the fuel needed to build muscle or do they actually play a part in building the muscle? bcaas and protein are what build muscle so if i lower my carbs i should be able to still build muscle right? Thanks

hell, you can build muscle by starvation too, but that doesnt mean its to be done.
carbs are sugars used by your cells for energy. proteins are the components of muscle. protein is taken up at a significantly higher rate if your body is carb deprived and then u suddenly feed it carbs.
i dont want to get all scientific, but suffice it to say that the most efficient way for amino acids ( proteins ) to be taken up by the cell is through co-transport via the active endocytosis pathway. means that they are taken up together.
every action in your body requires ATP which is derived from carbs. you need atp to live, to eat, to breathe, so naturally you need ATP for protein synthesis and muscle repair.
i know girls are picky when it comes to carbs, so ill stay stick with complex carbs except postworkout where simple carbs are better for uptake.

yes it does. however, your body uses carbs more often since its already in monosaccharide and di-saccaharide form. lipids require more mechanisms to be broken down into glucose than carbs. carbs = more efficient for muscle building. which is why there is a 40 % requirement for both carbs and proteins and only a 20% fat requirement for a generalized muscle building diet.
yes i am an idiot which is why those kenyans who cant afford a proper bulk diet are so damn lean.
which is why that vegetarian dude who drinks fruit juices only is so built.
and if u were not smart enough to understand the sentence, please dont comment on it.
im sure there are people who build muscle on keto diets which is basically carb starvation.“You are not what you were born, but what you have it in yourself to be.”

I believe you can generate ATP from lipids (FATS), carbs (sugars, and simple sugars), and proteins (amino acids) as well. Your body technically attacks the FAT, and CARB storage initially. If it does not have any then it generates ATP from proteins (amino acids). Its really bad when your body has to generate ATP from proteins, because it goes into a catabolic phase.
