My Rant about Skinny chicks at the Gym

Okay, let me see if I can word this right to explain my feelings. - I am a naturally muscular woman- 5'5", 130pounds, 17% Bodyfat- Sooooo.... when I stand next to a woman with NO muscle who is just plain skinny I Look HUGE!
Huge shoulders, quads... and as a woman my goal is to look good....NOT huge. Sigh. I love my body, and once I burn through these last few bits of fat maybe I won't feel so Large.

Guys- please tell me that a woman with muscle tone is Hot and that all guys don't want a skinny bag of bones. I need some reassurance that all this weight training is helping my body.

Well if the rest of your body matches the stomach in your avatar, I think it would be silly for you to view yourself as unattractive compared to a "skinny" woman.

The grass is always greener on the other side. I've always liked a woman with extra meat anyway. You're fine.

Real skinny chicks aren't hot, you're right, but neither is a chick with linebacker shoulders.

I like a little bit of curvyness, not too much, and some muscle definition can be hot too, especially in the stomach.

It just all depends. I know guys who cant stand a chick under 150lbs. Tv telling you women that guys like 95lb stick figures is a true myth.

Thanks guys, I feel a lot better. Sometimes a woman just needs to hear a real guys opinion. My husband tells me I'm hot all the time, but he has to say that, right? lol. -
And yes, that's my stomach in the avatar- and that is after 3 kids so I guess I'm doing okay. Moment of complete insecurity has passed.

So true. I'm a girl, and as far as I can make out, most guys like curvy girls. I'm recovering from anorexia, and used to get random people in the street making rude comments about my shape. Occasionally I still do. Right now I'm trying to gain muscle and keep my bf down (but gaining weight having had anorexia is flipping hard) - I have a fairly boyish body, and I think guys would find it pretty unattractive, but I don't give a stuff!

Most women have no sense of their own size. You put two identical women side by side, and they'll both tell you the other one is the thin on. On "How to look good naked", where the woman has to put herself into the line-up in order of size, not a single woman gets it right. Most have mentally added 4-6 inches to their bums or tummys.

Do NOT compare yourself to other women. Look at your own body and feel how well it works, how much it can do (giving birth to three children, for a start) and enjoy it. For all you know, those skinny women are looking at you and feeling sick with jelousy.

Never been into skinny minny's. I rreally don't understand the fascination with twiggy toys? As one other poster stated, if the rest of your body matches your abs, you have nothing to worry about. After all 17% on a female is healthy. Any less then that then you have to worry about messing up your hormones.

I'm one of those "huge guys" . On my own I see my size as normal. Standing next to someone smaller in the gym...yes...to me I start to see myself as a "huge guy". However, around friends and family, I feel normal again!
I think it's all in the head, and the best thing I have found is to try to resist the need to feel "normal." Chances are the reason I feel otherwise has nothing to do with me at all, but something external changing my perception!
And that bit about women choosing skinny women....IMHO 100% accurate.
PS: "Normal" is so the wrong choice of word but I can't think of another right now. What I mean is the thing that I believe the majority of people want/prefer/are. That in an of itself doesn't exist IMO.

Skinny girls with no muscle are disgusting. I think a girl with some muscle on her is ideal, with not too much fat to hide some of that muscle.

i've been to both extremes and while being very thin made me feel innocent and somewhat young in a way i felt inferior and powerless. it depends where you feel most comfortable. you can envy a smaller framed girl but remember you're strong and you have your own set of goals. i know what you mean no matter how comfortable or happy you are with yourself because of what its taken you to acheive it, looking at other frames can be really confusing. i think i ADMIRE muscular woman which is what makes them attractive whereas smaller framed woman just look nice in anything they wear. but to be honest i love having a butt much more than being a size 0

my gf is pretty muscular for a woman and she is soooo sexy. I'd never be with a woman that was skinny. Most of my friends are the same way. IMHO a woman with muscle and a little extra bodyfat is ideal.

but yeah, my gf isnt athletic or anything. she's pretty skinny but she doesn't have a 6 pack and she isnt a stick figure. my ex was really athletic and had some insane biceps and could lift half of what i could with her legs in the press... and i was a running back....

the end deal is, everybody has different taste, i know my roomate loves the stick figures, his gf's are always so freaking bony... but i know a lot of guys dont find that attractive at all.. personally.. a girl i think is "hot" is someone that looks athletic, like has really nice curves, but also has some really nice strong legs that dont look like tooth picks.. and bony arms is a hell no..

Muscular women look hot (minus the steriod, boxed faced ones) that look like dudes.
From looking at your pic, you dont look overwhelming with muscle at all.
You look like a hot woman with a very nice amount of muscle. Different
people are going to say different things though so its all about what you like
and your goals! I would say that a tan would really bring out your tones though.

My Ex wife was a softball player for Louisville and she had a hot body. She wasn't ripped, but she was firm and and a great ass and legs. Skinny girls, are not attractive. They are bony and usually have the chest of a 16 yr old boy. Gimme a Thick muscular girl any day!
