Just got prescribed to lexapro for the anxiety. Anyone here take lexapro?

not worth it.

stop taking it or lower your dose.

or at the very least refuse to go up in dosage.

****, I refused to take it in the summer, but I really wanna try it cause im constantly uncomfortable at school. Im gonna take 10 mg

it'll take a while before you feel an effect (like 4-6 weeks).

just keep with it like your Dr. prescribed.

did a PCP prescribe or a psych?

lexapro is pretty good for teens actually.

i've taken it at one point. but i actually take zoloft. people think it's weak to take this shiz...i disagree. i have ocd, an honest medical disorder, and pretty much need to be on something or i'm a train wreck.

if you need to take it, take it. don't listen to the other people...in the end, they don't matter

it helps if you have no other option....i took it for a few months because of having anxiety attacks every day....and tapered myself off of it and I'm fine now...just be careful, it makes you kind of numb...like emotionless and makes you really unmotivated...like you don't give a **** about anything...at least that's how it made me feel and people that I've talked to...it does help though...you will feel more comfortable in school because you won't care about anything...lol...(serious)

psychologist. pretty what for teens??? Ive had concerta and vyvanse in the past, hated it. My physcologist decided to change it up a bit to an anti-depressant.

One of my best friends takes it and it has worked wonders for him. If it starts working for you, stick with it. If it doesn't, don't get discouraged and try other methods.

yeah thats kinda what I need... the careless part. I fn care about the smallest things in school, which really pisses me off. But the unmotivated thing sucks. Im having a hard time finding ways to motivate me to lift everday. o well, we'll see.

One of my old roommates started taking it and it helped him alot. He used to be kinda a loner but now he works at a bar and has **** loads of friends and girls, so it worked well for him.

How will it cost to me to goto a pysch, I have horrible horrible anxiety used to buy xanax on the street not to get high but just to take before social situations and what not.

I was told by my psychologist that if you take lexapro and vyvanse at the same time you will feel like you just toked. True? anybody tried?

look around for a community mental health center in your area... a lot of times they do pro-rated sessions for lower income people or just plain free, and the docs are very reputable..i've done this myself

if you go to university, go see one there...i've done this as well. costs like $100 or less per hour before insurance.

i don't know anything about vyvanse, but i know i'm a fukking lightweight when it comes to alcohol...i can be drunk after like 3 beers. it's crazy

yeah depression w/e. Ive got anxiety but tired to cure that with some amphetamines. Kinda worked but coming off that vyvanse/concerta was a killer. Now it will be interesting what anti-depressants do.

yea, all SSRIs do that.

no desire and delayed ejac when u do get it up. it does subside after a few months though

you consume a lot of stims? they sometimes make anxiety and depression worse.. but really man if youre confusing anxiety with depression you should be focusing on fixing any problems and not dabbling with medications that docs are so quick to prescribe. When I was 18 i went to the doc and said i wanted to try paxil and he just gave it to me. That was a dumb idea because looking back i was NOT depressed, just didnt know how to handle life in the right way.. and coming off these meds is a BITCH. Id rethink your situation bro honestly.

I got to a psychologist and he knows whats up. Ive goin to him for a year now. Depression runs in the family too.
