Do you always Carb load?

I have been doing SKD (standard Keto) for two months. My carbs are almost always under 30g daily. Sometimes as low as 17 grams, sometimes as much as 50g depending. I have not carb loaded. I don't feel the need- I still seem to have plenty of energy. Also remember , Lyle says in his book that if you are following the SKD you do not need to be as diligent about being super low carb. The reason you go super low carb on CKD is because you only give your body 6 days between carb loads to get back into ketosis. On SKD I am pretty much always in ketosis so I don't have to go as low all the time.

I lift 4 X week- and my cardio is around 2 sessions a week and ranges from 25min HIIT to 45 min jog. depending on my mood.

I am not interested in gaining more muscle, I feel I have enough- I lift because I like it and I want to keep what I have and maybe develop it a bit more (abs, chest) I would like to burn the last bit of fat off my abs and tri's.

All you Keto experts- would doing a Car load (CKD) help me burn more fat? I would not do a whole day of carb load. I would do 1 meal in the evening once a week. - any more than that and I think I would feel like sh*t.

Now remember, I am a woman and I only weigh about 128 so I don't think I could consume as much carbs as all you huge men out there.

Thoughts? Comments? Thanks!

You don't have to carb-up. If you can function well on straight keto, that's fine, particularly if you vary your carbs to suit your workouts.

Having said that, the occasional carb meal is no harm, just to reset leptin levels and keep your thyroid happy. But one carb meal is fine.
