I heard from a number of friends and articles that chewing gum helps your jaw muscles to an extent... is this true?

I have to say that I got addicted to chewing gum from 15-17 and the shape of my jaw/face changed aggressively (due to 5 days a week cardio and constant gum in my mouth).
Literally I would do neck excerises like on elevators and chew like whole packs of gum in a day.
They dont joke around when it says "May have a Laxactive affect" on the packaging....jus sayin.
