I was just thinking instead of studying, how much the worlds changed dramatically in 13 years. I think what started it to boost off was 9/11 attacks, since then....dang.

I think that each generation tends to usually think that the older generation was better and that theirs is declining/worse, there are obvious exceptions but I think it's a pretty reasonable statement

The newspaper headlines are always about violence and schools getting shut down.

I don't have a legitimate source on hand but I remember hearing a talk show host I regularly watch mention that the city is handing out basketballs to black kids in neighborhoods with high crime rates, lol

I think it depends on your perspective. I think the biggest cause of recent fuk ups is governments turning much more authoritarian, starting bogus wars and taking away rights and social media making teenage girls stupider than ever thought possible.

That's simply not true. Nobody else gives a **** about Chicago because guess what? You have so many murders because you guys repeatedly voted for bad laws and now you're paying for it. Same with New York and to a much smaller extent, Los Angeles. These are not problems because the rest of the country had similar issues to vote on and we went different ways. I live in a town thats still 70% of the population of Chicago and guess what? 30-40 murders a year.

Don't blame the world for falling apart when your community specifically asked for it to be destroyed.

Look at places like Bangladesh, you don't have the Tamil Tigers setting off suicide bombs in crowded markets anymore, south africa is now a stable country. Obviously you're going to have some trouble areas like the middle east, but other than that there are not many attacks.

I agree. Education system is useless too, how often are you taught how to pay taxes, apply for loans etc...
