Universal's Intra-Aid; Blue Raspberry. A Review

So this is only a preliminary review, but I must say the Blue Raspberry tastes REALLY good and mixes rather well.

I will have a more indepth, more articulate and extensive review by Friday...

I injured my rotator cuff muscles yesterday, so I haven't been lifting with the Intra-Aid other than the 1 time (yesterday) but I plan on getting legs in on Thursday as I'm taking today off.

So far though... for Mixability & Taste... Intra-Aid (For the Price) gets an A.

Glad to hear you like it bro. I love the stuff. I feel it gives me a little extra endurance toward the end of the workout where I would usually just die out. Plus its real smooth/light, so you can take some big gulps without feeling sick.

I might have to check it out. Usually I will use some xtend. I just got a bb.com order today and I got a few samples including storm. Do you guys have any samples of intra-aid? Animal pak is the only universal supp i have ever used.

  The present study was designed to determine postexercise muscle protein synthesis and whole body protein balance following the combined ingestion of carbohydrate with or without protein and/or free leucine...Mixed muscle FSR, measured over a 6-h period of postexercise recovery, was significantly greater in the CHO+PRO+Leu trial compared with the CHO trial (0.095 ? 0.006 vs. 0.061 ? 0.008%/h, respectively, P < 0.05), with intermediate values observed in the CHO+PRO trial (0.0820 ? 0.0104%/h). We conclude that coingestion of protein and leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis and optimizes whole body protein balance compared with the intake of carbohydrate only.

  As only one of the qualifying factors that motivated me to purchase Intra Aid over other intra-workout blends... and that's only one of the studies I came across. The CHO, Protein + Leucine availability was a significant decision factor for me... in addition to the availability of Taurine and the Beta-Alanine to promote Carnosine synthesis.... etc.
  
• Taste - I am firmly impressed with the Blue Raspberry flavoring. The taste is eloquent, yet subtle as it is not too sweet with a hint of a blue raspberry tang without the synthetic, sugary taste. There is no lingering aftertaste either, which is definitely a plus - as compared with other Intra Workout 'drinks' I've used...
  
• Mixability - I've mixed the Intra-Aid in 1 liter of water and 750 ml and the taste has not changed drastically... then again, it isn't really much of a solubility factor in the difference of water content to intra-aid powder. Regardless, the mixability seems to be fairly consistent with a few 'hard' shakes. No grittiness, nor clumping.
  
• Physiological Effects - I'm going to lean towards a placebo effect since It's only the beginning of my use (I will post a new review in a week or so with an update)... but I like the 'tingles' from the B-alanine & feel a bit more 'energized' & 'focused' during my lift.

I have to say its probably one of the easly mixed products Ive used, and that deserves an A+ in my books alone, I hate clumpy crap in my drinks

Intra-Aid is great stuff. I'm on my 2nd tub now and i'll continue to use this product. It def gives you some extra energy to finish up that workout. Plus its an awesome taste that isnt too thick.
