used to drink and get pretty wasted a couple times a week. didnt really effect my bf% all that much, but id be so hung over the next day I would skip workouts or they would be ****ty workouts cus Id feel terrible.
havent had anything to drink in about 1 year. Progress is much better. No more nights of drunken stupidness to hold me back from my goals.

I may drink once a month, aside from maybe like one beer or so when I'm chillin' with my friends. It hasn't really affected my gains either way because it's done so sparingly.

I'll drink like once a week, but I've never missed a workout because of it and still get my work done...I don't really think I've gained bf cuz of it and really in college you just gotta enjoy yourself.

The negative effects of drinking are often exaggerated on this forum. Drinking occasionally is fine and wont hinder your gains. As you get older, that will start to change, though. Still, getting drunk and training seriously are two different mindsets and for most people, myself included, they dont mix.

I'm assuming you save the drinking for the weekends and your training for the week. Because I don't even drink one beer during the week because I don't want to run the chance of it affecting my mindset at all for my next day's lift.

Whenever I have any alcohol, even if it's only a bit, I bloat up like a mother****er.. Even if it's just some wine with dinner when we have people over.

Actually beer has a fair bit of nutrients and is basically 90% water.
However it also has a lot of calories and starch which can contribute to fat gain..

Well, the typical light beer has about as many calories as a regular soda. I figure that when I drink, it's like drinking a case of soda, which is bad...but can be overcome.

I binge drink one to three times a week and drink moderately some other days...
**** that sounds worse than it is lol. But it's the reality (I'm British... and a student... and have borderline alcoholic parents). Whenever I have a binge I make sure I also get a lot of dancing in to counteract it. It's never affected my bodybuilding but then who knows how much different I'd look if I cut it out?
One thing I can say is that if I do go for a couple of weeks without drinking heavily I usually feel much more energetic and generally more positive.

Ha i make my own homebrew beer and i get completely snockered like 1-2 times every week. I think the **** i make is worse for you than general light beer too. But **** mix your beer with protein powder it would be better for you than mixing it with milk ha.

Used to get wasted every weekend, but when I started serious training 6 months ago I have not been drunk and have not drunk more than a few pints in 1 night out.
Having a couple of beers now and then is not going to do anything to your gains, you over thinking the whole thing will though because you will damage your outlook on your progress, so don't worry.
Its only if you drink until you cant any more and on a frequent basis when your gains will suffer as a result.
This plus all the indirect factors such as the fatigue the day after, the dehydration etc.
