the cobalt ss has great numbers in terms of performance but i'd rather have a japanese make or european make if it was my daily driver

I wouldn't dish out 21K for that POS.. its American first off, not exactly having the best rep for reliable cars.
For 21K i'd buy a 10K 2000ish GTI and mod it with the remaining 11K. = German car that would whoop that POS.
And its 21K sticker.. after everything you're close to 25K
