IRA is now funded and ready to trade with. My first move may be going bear on the spy. HRMMM.
Badass Billy Brown. LOL
Oh...XHUA which was a TB members pick (Simon) did very well recently. I got in based on the weekly chart about a month ago and have been patient. Still holding since it's a small position and not worth scaling out here at resistance. Props to Simon

Simon is definitely consistent with his picks. He had made lots of great calls!
Cisco just reported earnings that slid 46% even though it's "better than expected" ... which doesn't really make sense to me. Wall St analysts can just throw out really easy expectations and companies will just beat them over and over again and poof recession is over. Let's see how this affects the tech sector tomorrow. I'm holding puts for HPQ since I think it's pretty overbought. I'm hoping the news of CSCO will somehow give a gap down tomorrow for HPQ.

I'm going to enter some spy shorts in my IRA I believe. A breather is becoming very likely IMO.

So I sold CTIC for a very smaill profit a couple of days ago, and got in C at 3.45. It's up to 4.00 after hours today. Wonder how much higher it will go. It hasn't been above 4 in 3 months. I have a nasty habit of selling too early (though I guess this is better than selling too late). Sold BAC last week at 14.5ish, but it's up to 16.7 today. Still haven't taken any losses though.

Nawwww. It's worth the risk. I run TIGHT stops. Small position. No swinging for fences or bias trading where I don't admit the signal was wrong quickly. If the signal pans out I'll add, if not I bail quick. That's what trading is about. This is a reward/risk ratio of about 3 to 1.
I'll drop in on occasion I'm sure...like today.
I won't be doing market analysis for anywhere but TB though. I pay $50 a month to run the site. I'm sick of paying yet building content elsewhere with no interaction on my own site. If my input is valued that much people will migrate and participate. I mean it's just one click away. It's like telling your neighbor you miss them, yet there they are right next door and you just don't say hi when you see them in the driveway.

the LSE is getting well and truly stuffed this morning. I cleared out most of my banking stocks in expectation of RBS screwing up the party, which they have done, so luckily today im only down decimal points overall.
its the bank that are propping the nyse up too, so id expect a downward day for you guys later too.Soon to be updated:

I think this thread is interesting, and I would like to post a strong opinion and get real answers not flaming ones.
It looks like the majority of you in here are trying to beat the market. More power to you if you think you can, but I think most of you are just gonna lose your money. One thing is for sure, the people selling financial tools and making markets will DEFINITELY make $ off you. I believe in a buy and hold strategy, and although 2008 sucked, I think it will pay-off in the long run. My current positions are EEM,FXI,ILF,IYF,SPY,SSO, etc...mostly international. My portfolio is up like 40-50% in 2009.
One thing day traders overlook is the bid/ask spread. Lets say you buy a stock for 1.00 a share. Are you aware that the person who sold that share might only sell it for .995? That half of one percent is taken by the market makers. (This is on top of the small trading fee of $8 or whatever). If you make 100 trades a year, that half a percent just added-up to 50% of your money. My Pics:

There is a bid-offer spread whether you trade from home or youre at goldmans. in reality the ****ty bid-offer most trading platforms give you makes very little difference. its the commission you have to watch out for. even putting through trades worth a few k you have to make a percentage point just to break even.

VPS. I intended to slice it out but everyone keeps backing out on me.
$10 per month for a slice of my VPS. The Liquid web support is fantastic and I can guarantee the 5 or so sites I would host will have no overbooked shared server issues. I have plenty of VPS to go around. LOL
You pay $12 a month for "shared" and you get an overbooked server typically.
Anyhow...yeah $50 out of pocket every month. I know eventually I'll be using it for hosting other biz ventures so I'm taking it on the chin for the time being.
RENT your web space from me fellas!!!
Stopped on my DOG trade for a tiny loss. Was worth a shot at 3:1 ratio. Will reset and watch for a new signal.
