I've taken 37.5 and 30. The 30 seems to work better for me. I lost a lot of weight on Phentermine. I also was doing a lot of cardio too.....side effects were low labido, some times dizzy and no energy. I contribute the dizziness and energry to the fact that I wasnt eating much at all. But I went from 272 to 182 in about 12 months. This was before I started lifting. I have now been going to a gym for a year lifting pretty hard and last time I weighed myself I was probably 198-202 in that area....but over the holidays I have been eating my ass off and I bet I way close to 210 now. Im 6ft.....this all being said I plan to go back on Phentermine 37.5 (that is what I have access to) in the next couple of weeks. I would like to get back down to 185-190.

Everyone remember Fen-Phen? Got pulled off the market because it was responsible for heart valve disease?
That drug was a combination of fenfluramine and phentermine.
That said, there's been practically no clinical studies on the effectiveness or safety of phentermine, and it has a nasty habit of at least encouraging heart disease in combination with another drug.
I'd probably stay away from this one.

Complete nonsense. Phentermine is a doctor prescribed, FDA approved and heavily studied weight-loss drug. Phentermine is prescribed to obese patients.
The combination of Fen/Phen was lethal, phentermine standalone is not. If anyone is serious about losing weight and having difficulty using traditional methods, phentermine could be the answer. The EC stack is probably more dangerous than Phentermine, especially when prescribed by thousands of doctors across the country. If you visit a bariatric MD or weight-loss clinic, more than likely you will be prescribed Phentermine, if eligible. Much more proven, safe and effective than EC/ECA.

Phentermine DID cause heart disease when combined with fenfluramine. You agreed.
The only thing you disagree with is that there is practically no studies on its effectiveness and/or safety. My source indicated as such, and a query on pubmed returns largely studies on the use of phentermine AND fenfluramine. There are very few studies on the use of phentermine by itself, the one I looked at involved only its short-term use on obese people in Korea.
However, look at this :
Quote:
|
A 28 year old woman underwent echocardiography following an incidental finding of a diastolic murmur. She has been taking phentermine for weight reduction for 8 months. Trans-esophageal echocardiography revealed a tear of the posterior cusp of the aortic valve causing severe regurgitation. Phentermine is known to cause valvular disease with prolonged use, but aortic valve rupture was not previously reported as a complication of phentermine valvulopathy.

That was retrieved from here:

That is from the Massachusetts General Hospital, the teaching hospital of Harvard Medical.

Great job! You succussfully proved you can use the internet to find one case! There are hundreds of thousands of people that have been prescribed Phentermine by licensed physicians. There is a REASON why LICENSED doctors prescribe drugs such as Phentermine and not EC/ECA. Do you really think the medical field, as a whole, would jeopardize their industry by prescribing a drug that was dangerous? There have been extensive private and FDA regulated tests on phentermine and it has been an approved prescription drug in the USA.

Did you really just say that the medical field as a whole wouldn't prescribe a drug that was dangerous? You're right, they've NEVER done that before.
Great job! You successfully (note the spelling) proved you're delusional.

Hmmm. Should I trust a doctor with extensive education or an 18 year old master of google from Canada? Tough decision, but I think that doctors may be a bit more reliable and trustworthy. Nice try though champ. Good effort.

Please. Impressive use of ad hominem to end an argument; always demonstrates maturity. I'll let you get back to your ideal world where doctors and the FDA don't make mistakes, and phentermine is harmless.
Troglitazone. Look it up.

I never said doctors or the FDA is perfect, however, they are alot more trustworthy than a kid from Canada with a keyboard. I am sorry that the truth hurts, but there are far too many doctor wannabees on this message board. Just because you have 2,000 posts does not make you a trusted source over an entire medical community. Cheers!

Exactly. It is now illegal to purchase phentermine online and both the seller AND purchaser can be prosecuted. MD or weight loss clinic.

Doctors in your "medical community" have stated that phentermine causes heart complications, yet it is still prescribed. Clearly you can't wrap your head around that because it somehow goes against your vision of the FDA being God.
No point in arguing with you when you simply rehash the same information repeatedly and are satisfied with using insults as rebuttals and refutals, while simultaneously avoiding any proof of references or sources and completely ignoring truth.
Thankfully I can avoid your lack of logic and/or critical thinking by placing you on my ignore list.

Doctors/Medical Field > 18 year old canadian know-it-all
But thank you for trying to convince me that somehow you are more worldly and knowledgeable than thousands of doctors. I enjoy a good laugh from time to time.
