Alcohol
How many of you people here can balance alcohol and training? Do you think alcohol is not worth your time if you're semi-serious about losing weight and toning?

If your really into fitness/loosing weight/competing then cut out alcohol. 'Semi-serious' you can pretty much find a balance with all foods.. just make sure your still under maintenance and don't over do it.

I don't drink during the week, usually I'll pick Friday and/or Saturday night to have a couple of drinks since I don't train over the weekend. As long as it doesn't effect my actual workouts I'm ok.

unless you are trying to have the body of a pro, having some drinks is going to be fine. I stay away from alcohol during the week and make sure my diet it spot on so come the weekend I can relax.

I'm quite stupid with drinking, so I can never just have a little. I tend to try to stay away as much as possible because of the adverse affects on my body and mind. I like to indulge when with friends, but I always stay with hard alcohol and plenty of water/soda.

Short term Goal: To consistently wake up early so I run every morning.
Mid term Goal: To be able to run 10 miles without slowing down, like I used to.
Long term Goal: To look good naked again.
Random news: Really wanting to start my bulk, but want to keep cutting because of an upcoming reunion.

Pretty much I try and stay clean and routine sunday-thursday, eating and training wise. But friday and saturday I usually have fun, still eat fine and sometimes do cardio, but do get alittle wild. I am not going to lie, I enjoy boozing alot its a good time almost everytime. Just have to make sure you dont get to the point where life isn't fun unless your drunk...

a beer or two every now and then wont do you any harm.
I personally dont drink very often, otherwise by the time ive finished my beer ill sit there and think, "wtf was the point in that?"
But really, a beer a week, or having a few on a night out every few weeks, aint gonna hurt.

Hey OP, when i cut alcohol out from my everyday routine, I definitely was able to lean out A LOT easier. Now I limit it to 1x a week and i honestly feel it doesn't affect my physique at all. I don't mean I have 1 beer a week, i like to get drunk one night a week. In the "health" aspect, i know it's not very healthy to drink in excess, even if it is only once a week. But as in my physique, i don't feel it's detrimental. I just try to avoid eating really ****ty food while i drink because i'm aware that alcohol fooks with your metabolism.
However, in the couple months leading up to my vacation I may cut out all alcohol, but I feel like once a week doesn't hurt my appearance.

Look at Kevin Levrone he used to be a heavy drinker while he was in his prime, I know hes a pro but i guess if the rest of your diet and your training is spot on u can get away with drinking. And i guess it depends how your body reacts to alcohol.... But if u wanna be in the best shape u can be ide stay away from it, its only gonna do u more bad then good.

The two shouldnt really go together unless its once or twice a year socially at a work function or something. Alcohol is dead and wasted calories with no nutritional content. I think a very moderate amount is fine like red wine or something like that once or twice a week with dinner but beyond that, it doesnt really go together.
