    Question Knee tendonitis. HELP PLEASE!!!!

I've had tendonitis in my left knee since the 7th grade. I've been told many times that there really isn't anything I can do but i know thats not true. I'm a seriously active athlete and it is affecting me bad. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to improve my knee strenght and get rid of this tendonitis?

Maybe you should see a physical therapist for specific things you can do about this.

I'm going to assume you're talking about patellar tendinitis. Cross-friction massage (rubbing with the broad part of your thumbs, creating a decent amount of friction and pressure) and ice are good for it. Do an ice massage for a good result: take a Dixie paper cup or something, fill it with water and freeze it. Then peel off some paper and massage the area with it.

My doctor prescribed me Pennsaid. Its a topical temporary pain relief, so it helps relief pain when you run and lift and what not. Tendonitis is usually a temporary thing though which just requires you to rest and ice and what not
