Occasionally they will have a tune worth listening to.
Anyone else just think that Liquid Metal is just a ****ing gay name?
Although they did seem to have a pretty good playlist to and from work the past two days.

It all changed when XM moved over. I hate it as well and so did many other listeners. You'd always hear Jose ( DJ ) say it often to the listeners about them hating the new name and the fact that some channels got moved and some taken off to make room. The name to me doesn't sound Metal at all. It sounds like newer emo Metal music theme. I listen to Hair Nation mostly and I have to write to them often asking them to stop playing the same 5 freakin bands all day everyday long ( Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Cinderella and Def Leopard ). Seriously, I think those 5 bands pay the station cash to play their **** all day long every single day. They got rid of Buzz Saw as well. Another one I listen to daily and now it's Classic rewind which is a tad older or more softer rock mostly.

Hell yes.
Sirius had the ****ing ticket going with their music. Now Sirius bought XM, shouldn't XM take on Sirius's format and names.
I listened to 27 today going to work. The played ****.
Before the switch I could put it on and not even think about changing the station.
Buzz Saw was great. Now it useless.

Yes, the name does but it still has the same DJ's and that keeps the music the same too. But it does need more rock stations. I mean it's like some good stations are being taken over by one band. Like The E Street channel, ABBA channel, etc,etc .....

yeah, I noticed a huge change in "liquid metal" format. A couple of the songs I was like WTF. I am just glad my car has it free for a year and that it came with aux jack for my mp3. I with you in being disappointed in the change...

F*ck Genetics!!
i dont really listen to metal that much, i flip over there occasionally. but i did comment the first day i noticed, that the new name sucks. hard attack is a kick ass name. liquid metal sounds so generic. i usually dont drift away from octane too much. (i was glad they kept their name). i have noticed a change in format since the xm merge. they play "pure hard rock" but now i have to change the station because they're playing butthole surfers or something gay like that. they also play a **** load of rage against the machine which i cannot begin to tell you guys how i much i despise!!! the only good thing to come from the merge was getting rid of jason ellis for the morning show. he got on my damn nerves. he talked more between songs than any of the other dj's and it was always the dumbest ****. and to make it worse, he thought he was hilarious in his own mind.
i guess what i'm trying to say is that i think we're all upset with the merge. my favorite station is octane, and i've never had to change the channel as often as i do now because of ****ty music.

Sirius had the perfect combination of metal stations, you could go to Buzzsaw and hear some Sabbath, Maiden or real early Metallica, Octane for Korn, Sevendust and other nu metal type stuff, hair nation for hair metal, and hard attack for brutal heavy metal, if i wanted xm stations i would have bought xm, the problem with xm stations is they throw in random garbage after playing a good song, on the boneyard ive heard something by Megadeth followed up by love in an elevator, the same with liquid metal, i never had to change the channel when it was hard attack, now i'll put liquid metal on and change it most of the time, so now i mostly listen to hair nation, which is cool but i dont think they realize these bands made music after the early 90's, and they should play songs besides the singles, it would be great to put on hair nation and hear scene of the crime or she wants money by ratt instead of round and round and lay it down every 3 hours
and its not just metal, i used to listen to the reggae and the 50's station on sirius and they switched to xm's versions of those and they play sh** also

I am ****ing glad as hell that my Subscription ran out Jan 08 and I am still getting it.
If I was paying for that ****. I would raise some hell with the customer support.

Exactly. That name Hard Attack is just bad ass.
The Liquid Metal name is exactly what they did with the type of songs being played. Just watered down, ****ty ass metal.
Octane has only played one song that I liked.

Spot on.
I have my Chan 1 stations set at 19, 20, 23, 27.
That used to be all I needed.
I could scan between those 4 stations and never have to hear a song I didn't like.
Now I have to bounce around between all my presets, but they eliminated Buzzsaw for a few months. ACDC radio. I like ACDC but come on you bastards.

I taken the time twice to write the DJ's at Hair Nation, lol.. I mostly deal with Keith Roth as he's like someone I'd hang out with. But the last time I checked. He had his email address taken off the site, lol... So I wrote Darren.
email sent Nov 22nd 2008:
Hey Darren I was looking for Keith's email on the website and it's not there. But I'll just pass my email along to you and him anyway. I'm a 30 year rocker myself and music is my life. I've been listing to the station now coming up on one year. I got the Sirius radio for two reasons. One, I can't stand commercials that drag on forever or boring morning talk shows. Two, you don't hear 80's bands like this anywhere. So love love love the channel. But, I have noticed a pattern and it didn't take long to see it over my time listing. If you would, do this for me. Get a copy of any day's song play list. Write down each band the station played that day. Not songs, just how many times you see each band. What you are going to see is about 5 bands stand out and take up about 60% of the total music day. I know which ones, just wanted you to see that as well. Yes, I like everyone loved those 5 bands from the 80's. Yet, as we both know. There are a ton of other great songs, bands that we seldom hear on this station.
Now, I'm not sure if it's a play list station, some kind of law that these 5 bands get played 3 times a hour EACH for a 24 hour period or what. But it's gotten to the point when I hear one of them. I turn the station to something else and that's just not right. Then I think to myself is the stations music library really that small? I mean I have some 300, 400 CD's of all the good hair bands, metal, rock and just about everything. I was hanging out in LA in the 80's and like yourself. I know many bands with well known songs. If the station really wants to capture a greater audience. I feel that it should also include the B level and C level bands. Like when we do hear Helix, Hurricane, Tora Tora, Loudness, King Cobra, Fastway, Saxon, Accept, Kick Axe, Armor Saint, Nitro, Vinnie Vincent, etc, etc. You know what I'm talking about. I want to feel surprised when a song comes one and relive the memories I had when I first heard it. Not hear the sa me bands all day everyday as if I can count on yet another day of Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Poison and Ratt...... You get what I be spraying, lol.
Love ya man,
Jerry
