    not exactly keto, but help!

    Hey guys,
I read on stronglifts.com that the anabolic diet can help pack on muscle while burning excess fat stores. i am also doing the stronglifts 5x5 program, but thats not for this forum. on the anabolic diet, i have been eating a crap load of red meat, cheese, chicken, eggs, pepperoni, peanut butter, veggies, and whey when i need it. Couple questions about it
    1) my whey has 10g carbs per serving is this too much for anabolic diet?
    2) in how long should i notice a difference in weight or body composition?
    3) has anyone tried it and what did/didnt you like about it?

    thanks guys

p.s. dont go by my picture its old ive gotten like 8-10lbs bigger since then

i know anabolic isnt exactly keto but no one answered me in the nutrition forum

Yes, unless it's taken around your workout. The anabolic diet calls for 30grams or less of carbs during the rest of your day.

    2) in how long should i notice a difference in weight or body composition?
1st week you'll see lots of water drop off. After that you may see some lean mass gains negating your fat loss for a week or three. It happens to alot of people but the fat does drop fairly quickly.

    3) has anyone tried it and what did/didnt you like about it?
This is the keto forum. Obviously, we like low carb diets.

Here's an interesting review on the Anabolic diet by Chris Shugart.

Honestly, it's not much different from the standard CKD practiced here except for some of the minor details, like highish fat and lowish protein on the carb ups.

    Yeah, it'll work just fine.

Depends on the person. The leaner and/or smaller you are, the less you will tend to drop from water loss.

Of course, too high carb intake or protein intake could inhibit it as well.
