Figured this might be fun.....
So with 2008 fixing to close its door, and a new year approaches what are some of your best times of this year? Did you reach any new goals, finally get to a competition, or just didnt get much done.
Thought this might be an interesting topic.

Actually been a pretty okay year for me...sold my house in record time (less than a week on the market), moved back close to my family and friends.
Some things didn't work out exactly how they were supposed to, but overall I met my goals, with one exception which will get done in 2009.

Like everyone, I've had some rough patches this year, but to focus on the GOOD things:
1) I successfully surprised my dad by throwing him a 60th Birthday party and sneaking his sisters, brother in law, one neice and two old Vietnam buddies into town to attend the party without him finding out about it AT ALL! I was so happy to see the look on his face!
2) The last 30-odd days have been AMAZING for me. I've dropped pounds and inches like a fiend. My clothes are falling off and my husband even said to me the other day "Wow. . .you're looking really fit." That made me WAY too happy! LOL!
3) Making buds with all my bb.com pimps and hos. LOL.

I have had some bad things going on this year.
But also some good things
I have had a great time getting to know IC she will never know how much and how important she has been.
My buddy Erin got her training where she wanted it to be and now she looks like a pro.
And my daughter is becoming a beautiful young woman, I'm so proud of her.
Personally I haven't accomplished much, but I have failed at a lot.

Let's see
1. Vegas with the wife-- what a blast
2. Benching 315 with relative ease
3. Learning to be a better dad--spending more time with the kids(work in progress)

My New Years Resolution last year was to fit into the wedding dress I bought a size too small and tone up my arms. I ended up having to get the dress taken in. So I'm really pleased there.
Looking forward to next year and new progress.

I love my kids to death, and we spend a lot of time together. But I'm trying to focus on doing stuff with them individually without mom. My son(2 yo) and I just went to Walmart last week, and it was a blast. He's flat out hysterical. He'd ask for something and I'd tell it was too much, then we walked down the toy aisle again he'd look at stuff and just say, "that's too much daddy". People around us were cracking up.

What I've bolded would NEVER happen without you in her life. You are obviously NOT FAILING if your daughter is making you proud.
Just sayin'.

This year has been so trying and amazing at the same time. I will never forget this year bc it's the year my 3 yo nephew was diagnosed w/Luekemia...he is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant on 1/9.
I also won't forget it b/c I met someone special, Dwest, on bb.com and he makes me want to be a better person...that's not an easy thing to do. I am so thankful for him.
I've met my physical goals...but to me that's the easy part. I struggle with other things, but am headed in the right direction.

This year I have gone leaps and bounds in finding out who I really am as a person. I still don't know, but I am well on my way to figuring out.
No matter what else happened or didn't happen this year, I will ALWAYS remember 2008 for that.

I started boxing, which has been a dream of mine since I first wached Rocky at 10 years old.
We also moved from our little house in the suburbs out to a house on 1 acre in the country. My back yard backs up to a corn field and I love it!

To update a little. I met a lot of great people on BB.com. Lots of motivation from seeing all the ripped people on here and all the ones that lost a lot of weight. Gives me hope for myself.

I didn't do a very good job of it in Ireland. We have pics of the rental car to prove it.

Wow, you all seem to have accomplished a lot this year. My paltry accomplishments have been:
running my first 1/2 marathon, lifting frreweights for the first time, doing 2 chin ups, and publishing my first research paper.

It's surely not been a great year, got my heart broken twice - a 6 year friendship and a 5 year relationship both ended with a few months in succession of each other.
Now that I got that negative stuff out the way
I graduated and I've lost nearly 40lbs. I've learned how important it is to love myself and I'm on a path to becoming a better person. I have high hopes for next year.
