Car Help (serious)
For the past couple of months my car's been making a clicking noise when I take turns. Today it got worse and now does it even when I go straight. It started happening right when I heard i guess i would call it a cracking noise when I was pulling out of a parking lot this morning. I'm no car expert by any means, but I think it could be a faulty cv joint or maybe wheel bearing. Does anybody have any idea how much this would cost to fix? It's a 95 civic (yes p.o.s.) Any input is greatly appreciated.

Probably your axle.
Should not be too much $$ to fix. Call around for the best price. The small shops will probably give you the best price.

CV joints can click too, so don't rule that out. Not a wheel bearing, because they make humming noises when they go. You can tell which side needs work by determining if it clicks more when you turn left, or when you turn right. Axels (for my car) are usually around 100 dollars.

Its a bad cv joint. Id get a whole new axle instead of replacing just the CV. The parts arent too pricey but shop around for the cheapest install. Should only take a shop 1-2 hours MAX.
Around 100 or so for the axle, you can get them at autozone and they give you money off if you return your axle.

Definitely check the CV joint first, before thinking it's the axle. If the boot is split it's more than likely the CV joint.

I'd say bad CV as well. Could just be the boot got torn and the bearings were exposed (rust).
Turn it all the way to lock and give it a little gas from a stop, it should start howling.
Does it click when you turn with your foot off the gas? Any vibrations?
