A little waxy maize clarification
Alright, from what I understand, WMS is a fast digesting COMPLEX carb. So how is it as a fast alternative to a whole food carb like oats? Obviously you'd want whole food every chance you get, but if your in a hurry, can you put some in a casein shake as a meal replacement? Or mix some in with your whey first thing in the morning if your running alittle late? Also while seaching for this answer I found some mixed opinions on prima force's carb slam. That's what I have and was wondering if it's at least half decent until I run out and get some ON GlycoMaize? Thanks.

i got told from a nutrition store owner that since itsd digested so quickley it allows more glycogen to be stored in the muscles allowing greater energy to be exerted

It empties from the stomach very rapidly, is high glycemic and elevates insulin significantly, and generally causes less bloating for those who experience it with other carb sources like dextrose. Generally not a replacement for oats rather for dextrose.

The significance here is that this dosing scheme may have caused a highly efficient delivery of glucose to the intestine. Since this happened alongside a faster glucose uptake by the muscles, major increases in blood glucose were neutralized.
Now stick with me here. In the latest WMS study, a more realistic 100g was used, and better blood sampling methodology was used as well. Guess what? As a result of its quicker gastric emptying, WMS caused a 17.3% higher peak insulin level and a 10.9% higher blood glucose peak.

To further what in10city said, not all WMS is created equal. If the molecular weight is not listed I'd be weary of it. This is crucial to having rapid assimilation through the gut and creating a heightened insulin response. Most of the stuff on the market is crappy cornstarch which is technically WMS.

Don't know if you read my first post, but carb slam doesn't list its mol. wieght and it's starting to look like it's not a quality product. Can anyone confirm this?

GenR8 and if you want creatine Nutrex Volugrow. I believe both of these fall under the same product patent as well.

personally, I have used MHP dark matter and have liked it (taste and texture too), I haven't got a second body fat test to empirically see if it works better than juice and whey PWO for me, however I did note that I had less muscle soreness (ambiguous, but could be helpful) and also that, in the mirror, it seems to have worked great.
Can't say anything definite, but I liked the product (Also I know for sure that there is a really fast gastric emptying time with that product, as if you eat a big meal too soon after you're going to be in for some gastrointestinal pain )
