I'm looking to buy a pair of 18" threaded db bars. I currently have 14" and i find it too small. So far i have only found 2 retailers of 18"ers:
New York Barbells

NYBB sells them for $2 less but their shipping to me is $24!! making the total $53.90.
Pacillos after shipping to me is $41.75
However, everyone on these forums always recommends NYBB, any reason for this? The quality of the bars should be the same right? Just looking for any input on these 2 companies. Thanks.

For some reason, NYBB has ridiculous shipping rates listed on their site lately. I got my 18" bars from them several years back. They're fine. I can't speak for the other place. FWIW, I've heard of people calling NYBB on the phone and negotiating a more reasonable shipping rate. Couldn't hurt to try.

x2. Call NYBB and talk to a human. You might get a better rate for the two little handles than what the computer is giving. BTW, both sites are selling the same bar, made by TDS if my memory serves, I have a pair just like them.

I called NYBB and they said it would cost $16 for shipping. Compared to $9.80 at Pacillos. Ive been shopping around alot for these bars and it seems that $41.75 from Pacillos is the cheapest way for me to get them. I'll probably go with Pacillos.Originally Posted by rplass
