    Loose Skin-scared

    Ok well i was 272...i been losing since july, im now 227. However as of know i dont think i have loose skin. What im scared is i want to get down to 180, 170. That well be 90/100lbs lost. Im 17 so im young and i take a multi vit. and fish oil. Do you think i will have major loss skin...after getting to 180 or 170 by hopefully may or june...i will begin to bulk in sept. to like april of following year...you think i will have a problem..when i think of having lose skin i dont want to lose weight anymore im confused help.

    Dont worry about that bro, your young which means your skin is still at its peak, make sure you dont lose more then 2lbs a week, drink lots of water to keep elasticity in ur skin,
    If you droped like 15lbs a week than that would have been a prob.

    just make sure to lift some weights too, lose some fat but put on some muscle for many reasons
    1 helps skin remain non loose, 2 more muscles on ones body the more calories the body burns.

    Being at his size(i didnt look at height? lol) but at 272 and wanting to have lost almost 100lbs or so pretty well says he was morbidly obease and 15lbs a week wouldn't be so far out of the question from starting point. If you don't notice any loose skin yet, try to focus on losing slower which shouldn't be too hard if you've came down from that much.

    You might be able to donate the loose skin to a burn unit for free. If you have any or enough. They will use a Plastic Surgeon and hook you up if you got it.

    At 17, you are fine. Your skin may look loose for a while but it will tighten up, particularly if you keep up with the fish oil. In any case, you will still look better at your proper weight with some loose skin than with taut skin and 70lb overweight.

    After all, you spend most of your time with your clothes on. Don't you???

    OP, my friend in HS had your same stats when he was your age..he lost 100 and got down to 170 and he had a bunch of loose skin..however, he also lost it VERY quickly..like over 5 months. It seems like you are on the right track..especially if you don't notice any looseness right now. As you loose weight, make sure you take care of your skin...pick up a good lotion and use it everytime after you get out of the shower...personally I like Nivea w/ Q10 skin firming agent...doesn't smell fruity and seems to work.
