Genetics?

I hear the term genetics mentioned a lot. Some people use it as an excuse as to why they cannot reach certain goals. Others praise it as the reason they can. It's foolish to think it plays no part in a persons health but I'm curious as to how much it really effects one's physique? There are certain parts of my body that don't seem to respond as quickly or as much as other parts when exposed to the same type of intensity. I've noticed other people with similar traits. Now without knowing everyone's exact workout/diet routine it's hard to determin if their training is lacking or simply their genetics. After all the concept of weightlifting isn't that complicated. There are only so many ways to move a weight and most of us have very similar routines. Yet almost nobody has the same physique. I'm not talking about the extremes like very obese people or very skinny people. The average 160-200lb gym rats that all workout in a very similar fashion. Yet one has very large arms but narrow shoulders. Another with a wide chest and back but lagging arms. You get the idea. So in reality, and not used as a crutch, how much of our physical potential is predetermined by genetics?

I believe that if the mind and the heart wants it enough you can surpass your own limits time after time. Genetics is good too have but doesn't mean that you have to work less, and certainly no reason to use as excuse if you work more and harder you can do anything.
The sky is the limit ... why limit something, don't get fed up by it, don't let the little things bother you. A man's only judged by the way that he thinks.

^excellent mindset. I'd not let anything sway my motivation and passion to do what I do differently. I believe you get results as long as you work hard and don't give up. There a lot of people with great bb genetics but maybe other aspects of life consumed them. Be glad you know what you know to put it in good use. And your own physique is the best no one else can achieve a physique exactly like it.
