I've always preferred push press...just gradual progressive overload adding weight to the bar every week or so. Only ever had it stall once and I just added some more volume and the weight started climbing again.
18yo/244lbs/6ft 1in

Bench - 385.8lbs (175kg)
Squat: 507lbs (230kg)
Deadlift: 611lbs (277.5kg)
Push Press: 287lbs (130kg) x 6
Seated DB OHP: 110lbs (50kg) x 11
Flat DB Press: 132lbs (60kg) x 12
