Guys good at Biology / Science, HALP!
Any biologists in the house? What's the answer (serious)
10. Triacylglycerols cannot form lipid bilayers because they
a) have hydrophobic tails
b) lack polar head groups
c) cannot engage in hydrophobic interactions
d) may contain unsaturated fatty acids

I believe its B.
Phospholipid bilayers have hydrophobic tails facing inside and polar heads facing outside.
It's B. Triglycerides have three fatty acid tails and thus no polar headgroup to stabilize the outside of the bilayer with (compared to say phosphoglycerides).

Seems to make sense thanks. Any good at chemistry?

C. The COO is hydrophilic while the CH3 is hydrophobic.

amphipathic = both polar and non polar sections.
So its C, as it is carboxylic ion with a non-polar tail and a polar head which can ion di-pole bond with water.
a is an amino acid, b is water and d is a hydrocarbon.
Thank you very much good sir.
