Just a wrist sprain or more?

Started off benching with dumbbells, instead of slowly putting the weight into position I decided to jerk the weight off the floor onto my chest. Thus creating a sharp pain in my left wrist. The pain is on the outside of my wrist/hand(pinky side) and hurt in just about every exercise that requires wrists to stabilize the weight.

As well, it hurts when I push my hand towards the floor(palm up). Though when it's palm down and I push it downwards it does not hurt. As well when I make clockwise and counter-clockwise motions with said wrist I feel that sharp pain on the pinky side when my hand is pointing in that direction.

I'm wondering is this is a sprain or something more serious. It's been a few weeks and nothing has gotten better. I've also been planning to cut, although I'm a bit weary about it considering I wont be lifting during that cut. And of course, I want to retain as much muscle mass as possible.

My pathetic reps for any useful responses.
    Thank you.

I would encourage you to take some time off, a week at least. Try to avoid lifting anything heavy, or anything that hurts, maybe a brace too. Just let it heal.

Sprains generally have swelling, you might have some tendon strain?

For sure don't do any stretching for a few days.

Thanks for the help, I've got it in a brace and am hoping for the best. Anybody else?
