The separated obliques day was suggested by the Razor Sharp Abdominals article. Did you take a look?
I was not sure if I could follow this intense routine but I've been on a beginners' program for 2 months and I want to take a challenge and push myself. Also, this routine, according to the German Volume Training article is for people who are new to the training."Impossible is nothing"

As in lower rep and heavier weight? I was doing that on my other 10-weeks routine. I got done with it last week and thought I would try something new.
Thats a good idea doing deads on back. I'll do that. Thanks for the multiple quotes clarification. About straight leg deads, does that work out your lower back and not legs?"Impossible is nothing"
