GIMP help needed *reps*
GIMP as in the photo imaging programme of course.....
How exactly do I use the scissor select tool "with intelligent edge fitting"? I can select all around the thing I want to cut out, but then I cant find out how to actually select/cut the damn thing and move it.
I'm only trying to do something simple (until I get the hang of it), I'm trying to cut a mask out and move it onto a face, but am failing miserably.
I'd blame it on the alcohol but Ive not been drinking.....
Little help?

Don't you have to create a new layer for it? I have GIMP installed on an external drive, and each time I've messed with it - that tended to be where I messed up (not placing things on a new layer).

There was some documentary on TV where a forensic investigator was using it to solve a case. He said it allowed him to do things Photoshop wouldn't.
I really need to get better at it, though. Thus far, I found it to be not-so userfriendly.

The interface is NOT intuitive, but IMO more powerful then PS. I've been using GIMP for about 6 years now and wouldn't go back to PS. I just wish the scripting had better documentation.
