    strange sharp pains, forearm

whenever i curl or pick things up, or release my grip on a barbell or dumbbell i get insanely horrible pains near my wrist in my forearm. Ive rested for about 1 week solid and still i get the pains from lifting.

it doesnt feel like my forearm muslces itself, its more or less one of the connectors from my wrist area upto my forearm muscles.

    Any ideas?

I have just joined this forum because I have been looking all over the net for the answer to this question. I have a very similar problem.

It is mainly when I am using the bar and when i put it down and RELEASE my grip I get a shooting pain up my forearms. It kinda feels like shin splints but much worse. Almost like my bones are shattering. Is this what you are feeling?

If I do concentrated dumbbell curls on the preacher bench then it doesn't seem to be a problem but as soon as I do standup straight bar curls (and ezy bar curls to some extent) and release my grip when putting it on the ground the shooting pain comes. It normally lasts for a few seconds then goes away but it is excruciating.

I have tried resting (even for months) and then when I come back to it and within a day or two i get the same pain again. Very frustrating.

Anyway, i'll watch this post with interest.

I just got back to lifting after a long hiatus, and today I noticed something like inflammation in my forearm wrist. I think I should of took a more gradual approach when coming back, as to lifting rather fast and heavy
