Weird traditions, superstitions, or bro science that you think help you lift more
For me:
couple beers the night before
working out in cold temperature (while warmed up)
facing plates in all same way

I picture something terrible happening and then pretend that if I hit the PR, it won't happen...sounds gay but it fires me up most of the time

when doing a max attempt if i go up 10-20 pounds i will pickup a ten or two and tell myself. this is light as hell i could throw this across the room this weight isn't heavy at all. and kind of psyche yourself out that you know you can do it you just have to do it already and quit stalling.

I just got dumped by my GF of 2 years. So lately, just thinking of that b*tch makes me go insane.

throwing steel
for pr's, i like to add 75-100 lbs. and just unrack it on the bench, makes the pr feel lighter.
If you can't lift with the big boys, go get me a protein shake.

Absolutely nothing. Real strength doesn't have to be coaxed out or screamed at. I'm as strong half-asleep at 3am as I am during a training session at 3pm.

I do my heavy triples and maxes during the climax/crescendo of my heavy metal songs.
I wear this necklace when doing more than 405 on any given lift:

I was being vaguely facetious, but mostly it's the truth. I don't get psyched. I just lift.

Doing some rain dance / chest beating before a deadlift will help me lift the weight.

It might sound weird but I wear a mouth guard
Lately, I have been talking about this new PPM mouth guard that improves your athletic performance by up to 20% instantly. I know it sounds weird but it is fully explained via the link below. It is well worth the read.

Probably my annoying tradition is going to the water fountain between every set. I just have too, I don't know why. Guess because I have to waste time between sets and don't know what else to do.

i forgot to mention that i seem to be more agressive with a beard. sometimes i won't shave for a month and half a huge beard and something about having a beard just = strength to me. can anyone else relate? i used to lift with this one dude who introduced me to this and he had like a zz top beard and he said it just made him feel invincible doing deads.
