Thumbs down Ow! Icarian ABench -> Upper Back/shoulder/upper arm/elbow pain ??

I have no idea what I did and I am in so much pain I just want to drop dead.

Today I did my lower body weights and at the end of the workout I did my Icarian ABench (this machine: http://www.fullcirclepadding.com/dis...ch%20ab100.jpg) with a 25lb plate on my stomach. I've done as much as 200 of these "crunches" in one sitting, but lately I do 100 to 160 each time.

Today in the middle of the exercise I somehow ended up with my headphone set cord wrapped around my neck and because I didn't want to start over, I "held the crunch" while I tried to untangle myself. No big deal, I've done that before and I barely felt it. Well, I gave up on trying to untangle myself and only did 90 counts on that machine. I got up feeling like I barely did anything at all.

Stretched as usual and carried my tired body out of the gym and went to my apartment. As I laid down to take a nap I felt the center of my upper back start to hurt but I thought it would go away. Wrong. 1/2 hr later I woke up to hell. When I stood up the pain radiated across my shoulders and down to my elbows. I haven't had any back pain this bad since I started exercising and I have no idea what I did to cause this.

I've been treating it with ibuprophen and a heating pad.

Anyone know how this happened or how to prevent it?

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the help ...

I found out the cause of this was that I wasn't eating enough carbs.
