Best set of weights to buy for women?
I'm thinking of buying a completely new set of weights (not for a couple months because of lack of money at the moment, but soon after).
I was wondering if anyone knew what I type of weights I should buy, and if there are any specific names you would recommend. Thanks.

Get a 90lb or 50lb set of powerblocks (upgradable to 90lb later). That's all you'll ever need. If you don't like powerblocks, get a set of ironmasters.

I was talking about weights for women as in pounds, like the post above which says 50lbs instead of 90lbs, and upgrade later. That's all I meant.

And it has nothing to do with your sex,it's how much weight you can lift.

Buy a nice set of Olympic weights
A set includes 300lbs total, that is a 45lbs bar and 255lbs in plates. 45, 35, 25, 10, 5 and 2.5s.
Get whatever has a nice finish, some are rough baked, others are enamel.
There should be some sales soon in the US at sporting chains, major deals. So around 100-150 for a set like above.
If you have more to spend, get Cemco or Ivanko ez-lifts. Around 500 a set.

Check your local craigslist.org for weights and such. You can usually find them a lot cheaper on craigslist than in stores. Also if you plan on having a home gym you need to look into a power rack for the future. YOu can get a cheaper on inexpensively. If you need more info just look in the equipment thread or PM. Good luck in your endeavor.

A cheap set of spinlocks would likely serve their purpose with you, unless your just freakishly strong for you size.
Your local fitness store will have these, hell, walmart has them.
You also avoided the question, are you looking for dumbbells, barbells, whats your goals, do you have any fitness equipment now? Cause it makes a difference. One end, if your just looking to maintain your slender feminine figure, you appear to be a good candidate for FREE bodyweight exercises and paying attention to your diet, lucky you, if your looking to add muscle, then maybe you need some form of additional progressive resistance....that brings up the question...do you wanna do barbell lifts (big three), stick with an FID bench and dumbbells (which is very effective, even for dudes)...etc etc.
Just asking for complete weight set is like walking into mcdonalds and saying you want a combo meal..ok..theres fifty..

Dont limit yourself because of gender.
Buy the same set a man would.
As stated, if you need to conserve space and money, look into power blocks, just make sure you can expand later.
